Hi Friends, thank you all for the kind and interesting discussion yesterday around Chat GPT! Here is today's outfit.

Angie pointed out that ChatGPT might be a great starting point but it can't replace one's own style as well as advice that it tailored the individual and she is of course right! In this case, I added a personal touch by experimenting with subtle striped socks to add a little personality.

Since the picture was so funny yesterday, I asked it to generate the outfit as I styled it (I didn't do an image originally). When it gave me a gray coat, I asked it to do more a blue-gray to match my coat (see Finds) and add the 'pop of contrast' that was recommended (not much contrast but working with what I've got!). It helpfully hung a blue coat in the background lol (btw - I get three free images a day on my free account - I think this works if you use your Gmail account to access but not sure).

This was the original advice it gave me:

2. With Trousers:

  • Tailored Pants: Opt for slim or slightly cropped trousers in navy, black, or beige.
  • Shoes: Pointed-toe flats or low block heels will elevate the outfit while keeping it casual.
  • Finish: A leather belt in a complementary color can define your waist if you tuck or semi-tuck the turtleneck.

4. With a Jacket:

  • Outerwear: A structured blazer, cropped jacket, or long-line coat in a contrasting texture (like leather or wool) adds sophistication.
  • Bag: A structured tote or crossbody bag completes the look.
Additional Tips:
  • Proportion Balance: Since the turtleneck is chunky, keep the bottoms more fitted or streamlined for balance.
  • Color Contrast: Add a pop of color through accessories or shoes to break up the gray (burgundy, deep green, or navy work well).
  • Minimal Jewelry: Let the chunky knit take center stage by keeping jewelry simple and understated.
