Charcoal Boots - Via Spiga Odella

The boots arrived yesterday. They feel very nice. I walked around in the EF dress and the hem doesn't catch. I love the two inch heel height. The boots are a nice charcoal. The third picture shows the colors in sunshine. What do you think? I'm inclined to keep them.

I like them too. They look great with the dress and are a good neutral colour. How is the fit on the calf? They look like there is a little room there but not too much? I find that tends to be the trickiest issue with tall boots.

Brooklyn, thanks. I wondered about the top. I can just barely tuck four fingers in. I don't think of me having skinny legs or anything, so that was surprising. Do you think it's too much room?

A little wide around the top, but not too bad. Your dress covers the gap, and you can also wear the boots over jeans and jeggings.

Angie, thanks. I really didn't have a sense if the gap at the top was acceptable or not. It's hard finding grey boots that are a good color, simple style, and low enough heel. I really like them and hope they'll let me wear dresses or skirts in the depths of winter.

The description says 16 1/2, but these (size 10) measure 17 inches.

Suz, the description doesn't list the shaft height - I was looking at the wrong boot. But my measurement is accurate.

I don't think it's too much room. If you wear them with stockings, socks or skinnies when the weather gets cooler they will fill the gap. And the hem of the dress covers it in the interim. It's virtually impossible to find boots that fit perfectly around the calf. I say keep.

Suz, I'm sorry they're too tall for you. How tall are you? I'm 5'6". Maybe that's the difference. I'm going to keep them. I haven't looked everywhere, just with Nordstrom and Zappos, but these were the only ones that fit the bill.

I vote keep because they look sleek and refined on you. They aren't the type I would wear with jeans (more elegant than rugged), so stockings and leggings sound about right to me? I think four fingers is plenty of room. I have wide calves so I'm happy if boots even zip up.

I like them, beautiful color. I don't think they're too wide around the calf, as others have said, that leaves you room for pants or leggings.

Minimalist, the fabric is like a tee shirt, but with more stretch. I wouldn't say it's super dressy. But I think the dress can be dressed up with some jewelry.

I think they look great! I don't think the gap is an issue, it's small enough and this way you can also wear them with pants.

Beautiful boots, and they look so good with the dress. I typically prefer sleek fit with tall boots around the calf, but if you are member of the skinny calf brigade like I am that is nearly impossible to find, so I have learned to live with sleek enough. These are more than sleek enough to my eye and I think that they are keepers.
