Chanel type jacket with neutrals

I am so glad to be home! Somehow I was so busy today that I didn't realize we finally got some snow that stuck to the ground.

Anyway, I planned this outfit around the tweed Chanel-type jacket I am wearing. (The not so obvious question today is if you have one how do/did you style yours?) It was from that Narciso Rodriguez/ Kohl's team up back in October/November last year. The trousers are the side zip variety (cropped and tapered) from Talbot's Outlet and the sweater is a Marshall Field's brand that I've had since fall 2005. I spent some time on Pinterest trying to figure out how to style this toasty jacket. Here was my inspiration:

I actually did not intend for this to be a neutral mash up but I wanted to be warm while sitting in the office. BTW -- I think my desk is situated under the cold air return Today I am happy to announce I was not cold. With tweed on top of a silk/wool blend sweater and silk thermals I was a happy camper.

Another gorgeous, polished look, Day Vies!
For cold weather, the turtleneck makes a lot of sense under the Chanel-style jacket. For warmer weather I wear mine over a silk scoop-neck shell.

You look gorgeous DV! I love the jacket, I don't have a similar one, but I think it could be nice over flowy silk blouses or shells.

Lovely! Really looks nice with the wide trousers. I don't have a similar jacket as it's a wee bit too classic for my own style, but if I did I would be adding rock elements to it; so I'd wear with a long silky blouse or fine-gauge fitted turtleneck, skinny jeans, and boots/booties. It could also be fun to wear with slouchy trousers, but I don't recall seeing you in those before I wonder if it would also work with a longer semi-slouchy sweater over a pencil skirt?

Aida-- I have been eyeing a pair of slouchy trousers at Ann Taylor b/c I don't have any I like your suggestions -- I saw a lot of gauzy tops and skinny jeans on Pinterest I actually really like the look and will probably try it out this weekend. I'm a teensy bit rock 'n roll from time to time.

I like the idea of wearing this with wide leg, flowy trousers, or slouchies in a drapey fabric. Perhaps over a silk blouse.

I like Chanel style jackets with skirts too, although they're not the best thing to wear when you're freezing. You look so polished and beautiful as always!

Another beautiful polished outfit! My 2 Chanalesque jackets are more cropped than yours, so I feel better wearing them with pencil skirts than with pants. I should experiment with pants though. Under the jackets I wear turtlenecks, shells, sleevless blouses, and sometimes a buttondown shirt with the cuffs out. I think they would work with a sheath dress but don't think I've actually worn either that way. That may be my outfit for church this week!
