The metallic booties have become such a VIP this year - as you can see, I found in my roundup that I’d worn them more often than any other shoe - and after several years they are actually falling apart! They aren’t made anymore but I sourced an inexpensive and barely used replacement pair of the same shoes secondhand, and in the meantime I did a little DIY zipper pair to keep this pair going a little longer until the leather straps go.

It’s been very fun to research and save for some new-to-me brands. While shopping in person is now more limited than it ever was (stores that used to have robust plus sections either closed, moved pluses to online, removed pluses altogether, or seriously limited what they offer), there is more availability online from a wider variety of businesses, and better accessibility for secondhand shopping online. It’s nowhere near what it should be, but it’s a step in the right direction for a problematic industry.
