I had hopes of wearing my new Angie-recommended wide crops today (warmest day of the year thus far + new spring clothes!) even before I saw Angie's post. I don't have a lot of pullovers in general, but remembered my Uniqlo blouse that can be worn tucked (or loose over skinnies - very versatile and almost 4 season for me, which is a rare find). My new Merrels haven't arrived yet, but I do have my off-white Converse. I don't like wearing nylon knee highs so I was still stuck for socks, but remembered the lone pair of colourful, novelty-themed "sock whore" pink socks floating in my drawer, usually worn only hidden under boots. This is where it gets a bit goofy, and where I'm definitely inspired by the streetwear of women quite a bit younger than me... but I am ok with that!
Can't take an oufit picture to save my life but here are the elements. The pants are long enough on me that the socks don't show much, but I like the pink, black and cream where they do. The pattern just looks abstract. And I topped with my blush moto, an older wardrobe staple.
The pants come to just above the ankle on me, which is perhaps longer than ideal in terms of proportions BUT it's that length that makes them wearable so early in the year. I can consider hemming them when it gets warmer.
