Hello.

#1 to #3 - Red Gap Cable Sweater and WHBM Slim Sculpt Jeans
I wore this outfit out to dinner with friends. Normally I would have paired this red Gap cable knit sweater with black boots, but I wanted to try something different as I slowly shift my wardrobe away from black. So I wore my burgundy Franco Sarto booties and Vince Camuto crossbody bag instead.

#4 to #5 - Plaid Hoodie Flannel by LL Bean and Vintage Brunette Paige Jeans
This is a casual outfit running errands today. The LL Bean zip up is a flannel and a hoodie all in one and great for colder days. You can see some snow behind me (a rarity in NC) which arrived on Friday night and is almost all gone already. I layered an LL Bean unshrinkable waffle knit top underneath the flannel. It really lives up to the name, because I've owned it for a couple of years and it hasn't shrunk or faded at all.

The Vintage Brunette Paige wide leg jeans and Marfil Pikolinos boots have been on repeat because I don't have a long season of cold weather. I'm trying to get as many wears in as I can before I'm back to sneakers and knit pants or joggers.

1st red is a fantastic color on you! I would not have thought to pair red with burgundy, I’m just not that creative, but it works really well. For me, having the bag in the same color as the boots really makes it look cohesive and intentional. Well done.

The flannel looks is a nice update on the grunge era, modern but with a retro vibe.

Love the red and burgundy together. I only discovered this combination is so good a couple of years ago. Much more interesting and cohesive than if you wore black boots. The 2nd outfit is expertly styled imo. You are really honing your styling skills. Well done!

kkards - Having a bag and shoe compliment really helps me to make colors in my outfits look more intentional. I was delighted when I found a burgundy bag that perfectly matched the boots.

Star - I never would have tried to pair burgundy and red together but now that I'm working on moving away from black I'm more willing to try different color combinations. It's really opened up a whole new world for me.

Angie - I'm delighted that my WIWs are enjoyable. It's nice to share my outfits because with WFH most days the only one who sees the entire outfit is DH. Work colleagues only ever see the top half. It would be very easy to fall back into athleisure looks every day (and I certainly wear a lot of Zella pieces too), but fashion is too much fun to only wear athletic pieces.

I hope there's a jeans trend blog post in the future, I'm curious what it up and coming and delighted to be ahead of the curve for a change. Speaking of blog posts, thank you for your kind words on today's post. I'm both honored and blessed to know you for this long and to have met in person multiple times.

The box of clothes from the closet swap with my sister arrived today and it's a great example of how one person's castaway's can become another person's new favorites. I'm now the happy owner of a NAVY moto jacket and a GOLD moto jacket. Two nice wardrobe additions at this leg of my style journey. I can't wait for the weather to warm up so I can start wearing them!

RobinF - *high five sweater twin* Indeed all the kids were super excited to have snow around here because it's so rare. Last year the town brought in a snow machine and set it up on one of the hills so the kids could go sledding.

Angie - I'm always interested in YLF gatherings and lucky to have been able to attend quite a few over the years.
