I have the navy 1901 shirtdress - and have worn it TWICE in four days. It makes me feel like a million bucks and looks great with the flat footwear I enjoy wearing. See exhibit A:

Happy to read your enthusiasm for this dress! Yikes, I can imagine any of them working in your wardrobe. Of course I want you to get the plaid so we could hopefully be dress twins. But I know you love red, and soft blue looks sublime on you.

That being said, the plaid would be a different color for you, I think. I’m remembering that red and soft blue are already well represented in your wardrobe.

So I’ll cast my vote for plaid.

I vote stripe

My reasoning is:
- you won't want another dark one
- while red is different to blue (stating the obvious) the stripe adds a different vibe....
- stripe would be very nice with white and cognac footwear (and blush) - mind you so would red:)

I like the red the best, but was thinking along with some others that the stripe would give more of a contrast and a different mood. Red has the same depth as the Navy so it wouldn't feel so much like wearing a different dress.

I'd say red, but I think you prefer tomato red rather than the deep blue-red of this dress.

Still, I have to confess, I am instantly drawn to the red dress. The deep rich color is so hard to resist. And it would lovely with your hair, lipstick, and white footwear.

I’d be intrigued to see you try the plaid, but ultimately I’m not sure it’s happy enough in color for you. So I vote red, even if it’s not your absolute favorite shade of red.

Hi Angie,

I vote stripe followed by red. You wear those bright colours so well.

But with the stripe one you could accessorise with bright accessories.

I could imagine you wearing it in a European city at some point...

The plaid one is very wintery and reminds me of some of the contents of the shop windows I walked past the other days. Shades of the 1980s without the shoulder pads!
