I vote for stripe! Agree with others that you'll be happiest with tomato red and the plaid is a tad dark. I like the lighter tone of the stripe to make it different from your navy dress, and it will pair with all of your bright accessories.

Don't you have a similar stripe dress? I vote red, if it a good red on you. In the photo it looks like it is.
ETA: could you please show or tell us how to tie a bow belt?

Hmmm.
I think you try both on...
The red is going to give you more of the polished, retro- glam star look. If it is a shade you like, it could be irresistible. Head- turning. Better with deep eyes and dark specs.

The Blue stripe dress is very pale- the stripe is interrupted weave, like some oxford stripes, so might not read as crisp as you like. Good summery concept which would be a contender for a change from the solid, more “ breezy” in theory, but a LOT of pale fabric, need to avoid looking like Florence Nightingale. Better if Swedish farm girl on holiday. The bow on that one may be too much- belt with cognac leather, or jute.

If I liked how I looked in BOTH, I’d get both. But mirror test may save the day.

The red if it is not too bluish for your taste and too much like the navy. Next is the blue stripe. I think the plaid would ultimately feel too heavy and depressing to you and become an orphan. (I ordered the plaid btw.)

Red! No contest. The blue stripe is too preppy and too summery. The Red. The plaid is too heavy for you, IMO .

I like the red one, but I think the stripe one might be more in line with your current style direction. You can wear it with toffee accessories in the fall.

Red AND stripe !

Wrong shade of red. Stripe gets my vote! Lovely with white, gold, and blush

I would say stripe if I were buying the dress, of course;-) but have a feeling you might feel more drawn to the red (it looks more tomato red on the Nordies site than in the item photo). Throwing a spanner in the works here as I just saw that it's also available in "tan" and you did say you wanted to add more cinnamon and toffee to your wardrobe?

All colours are fantastic, so you'll look amazing whichever you end up chosing!

Stripe! I’d do the plaid, but I got a dress in that plaid... or wait, do I? Hmm...

Red! Why is Tan left out of the party? Tan would look amazing with cognac and toffee accessories. Or tall navy boots. Just saying.

Red - if it is a tomato red .

Red. Because:

Plaid looks Autumney.

Stripe looks casual.

Red looks fab.

RED...not even sure why you asked....i'm suprised that the 1st one you bought was the navy and not the red....

Red, you need at least one red dress and this one is gorgeous.

Sorry—another unequivocal red!! Blush compliments should look fab!

For myself I'd choose the plaid, but the colours are a little muddy for you. I vote red; you mentioned it's more of an orange-red than a blue-red, which suits you, and it could even come out and play around Christmastime...

OOoh loving the controversy ! I vote stripe as it has a somewhat different vibe to the gorgeous navy ! But you will be lovely in either, what a perfect dress .

Stripe, because it feels like it would fit perfectly into the new color scheme you're transitioning into for fall.

I'm late to the game here. I had collected ALL of the colours myself because I loved it on sight (but have yet to buy...better snap it up! Please vote for red or blue for me!)

Back to you. I rule out the plaid because you said it is summer weight and it is also dark...plus it's a bit muddy/ subdued.

The stripe is gorgeous and fresh. It reads "spring" to me. It also could read a tiny bit "candy-striper." (You might not know what that is, but it is a volunteer position that used to exist for young girls in hospitals...I was one -- we wore pink or blue striped uniforms like this.) However, since you and I have no objection to looking like a tablecloth (Boden dresses, anyone?) I am not sure that should rule it out. It would look wonderful on you.

Red is glorious and you said it is not as blue a red as it appears here (sobbing for myself a bit...but if fire engine, that's okay!). Red can be worn cross seasonally.

In short, I vote both!

In all seriousness, for me it would depend a bit on fabric weight (which I haven't seen) and when you would wear it most. It seems like a good transitional weather dress from the description. Fall/ spring more than deep winter.

You have wardrobe pets to go with both. You have footwear to go with both. Pearls work with both. You're set either way -- you can't go wrong.

Red! Do you have any red dresses other than the birthday lace?

Red, stripe, plaid....in that order.

You can't go wrong with any option, but I vote plaid. It reminds me of some of the plaids I wore in the 80's - in the best way possible!! I am going to purchase it tomorrow if it is still available.
