When I saw Janet's parachute pants post about a month ago, I remembered that I had kept a pair from late 90s, early 2000s - with a plan to turn it into a skirt or a bag because I loved the fabric, design, and the details of it - but I never did. So, Janet inspired me to find the pants and find a way to fit me now. It was a size XS - I was very little back then, about 52 kg (115 lbs) - and now 20+ lbs heavier. I knew it would be hard to find a matching fabric. I ended up using the belt that came with it to add 3 inches to each side and I like how it turned out. The only thing I don't like is that it is a low rise, only 8.5 inches, so, I have to wear my tops over the waistband to cover it. I wore it on Saturday night. My only concern was that it might look too teenager-me with all the pockets and details, I know I should wear it with basic tops and not too casual footwear to make it work, what do you think? wear it or not?
And I'm planning on buying a dressy version.
