When Angie posted the casual Summer capsule a couple of weeks ago, I realized that I already had this in my wardrobe. Admittedly I'd prefer to have more variety in bottoms, as they are all denim or navy. But I have another pair of shorts in olive, and I have white jeans that can be cuffed, so I'll easily get by.

Our Summer is bright, short, rarely hot, and mostly quite pleasant. Changing weather keeps the need for covering a constant, but we are sometimes blessed with more stable weather. Last year, late July was gorgeous.

My take on a casual Summer capsule
Showing all the possible versions would be a lot of work, and I think you easily get the idea anyway. Here are twelve possible outfits, three with each bottom. I think I easily can create 60-70 different outfits with this capsule. This is definitely enough for a Scaninavian Summer.

#1: 4 bottoms: Denim shorts (a hand-me down from DD3's closet), J Crew chino shorts in navy, (new), denim boyfriend jeans (new), and cropped navy pants from Hope.
16+ tops: I have quite a few casual tops that work with these bottoms. Basic tees, a couple of shirts, a couple of patterned drapey tops (that also work well when dressed up with trousers and skirts), a Breton, cotton sweaters etc.
6 pairs of shoes: Black birkies (new), stone colored Ecco sandals, Adidas sneakers (new), white Chucks, snake patterned ballet flats, nude suede cork wedges.
4+ casual belts: Green wide belt, snakeskin patterned belt, white braided belt, black belt
Accessories: A white tote (poluarethane) with black details (Karen Millen, new), a fuchsia envelope clutch (BR), black suede mini crossover bag, Ray-Ban wayfarers.

#2: With boyfriend jeans
2-1: Striped white/yellow tee, snakeskin belt, flat sandals.
2-2: White v-neck tee, green belt, black birkies
2-3: Light blue shirt (untucked), Chucs. I think it looks sloppy untucked.

#3 With navy cropped pants
3-1 Striped drapey tee, white belt, nude cork wedges, fuchsia clutch
3-2 porcelain patterned top, white belt, birkies
3-3 White cotton sweater, Adidas sneakers

#4 With navy chino shorts
4-1 Leopard shirt, black belt, black birkies
4-2 Cobalt/white Breton (untucked). Snakeskin ballet flats. I'm not happy about the proportions here.
4-3 Black slouchy tank top, Adidas sneaks, denim jacket, cross body purse.

#5 With denim shorts - are they too short for me?
5-1 With yellow striped shirt, green belt, white chucks
5-2 Light blue slouch sweater, white chucks
5-3 White shirt, snakeskin belt, stone flat sandals

What I aimed for were actual outfits, not only tank/tee and shorts/pants. Do they work? How can I tweak any of these to be more current, casual and a little fun? Of course I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks for looking and reading!
