Can't resist oxfords-ETA new arrival: laceless

Paul Green.
Currently in the "try on with stuff" phase.
Supposed to focus on laceless, and I have some coming to try, but I have a sugar eye for this nuanced gray leather combined with tan. The warm + cool color look. Was not aiming to add more brogues, but may have to fall off the wagon.
Un-trendily, I would wear these with trousers, with several gray pairs I have to look lighter and more spring-summery than darker shoes, and with tapered pants if I can find some.

Here's what l like--this past year, I found that a nude shoe look isn't quite right with darker pants, for me, probably due to bookending issues. I've not sworn off possible looks like that, but I just did not find it working so well. I feel un-grounded. (Whereas, I totally need them for skirts). I can't do the white footwear thing as Angie does

But, when I tried these shoes with several types of winter pants--grays in pinstripe, charcoal, minicheck, and even camel flannel--I found that even though the shoes were a little lighter in tone than some the pants, they looked right, color-intensity -wise, but very fresh, and different from "winter".

I have tops, including sweaters, in fresher or lighter colors as well, so this seems to help some of my favorite pants into transitional outfits and not in their wintry mode.

Unfrumped it sounds like these would fill a wardrobe hole for you. Unless you can find a similarly useful pair without laces, these sound like a good buy

I've been thinking about oxfords a lot lately, so it's nice to read your thoughts on how to wear them. I would love to see some photos of oxfords + trousers as you described. I love trousers and I like the idea of wearing them with oxfords. Didn't realize it was un-trendy! But then again I haven't yet found a good pair of oxfords to get started. These are lovely.

Love, love those shoes! You needn't convince me. You must keep them--for me, okay? Because I love them but wouldn't wear them as much as you will.

P.S. I really like laces, too. I like the traditional look of them, and the practicality of being able to adjust the fit over my instep.

Those look like perfect non-flat flat oxfords! Not too masculine, but with a comfy heel that looks like it would never feel like a heel. Most people love Paul Greens and find them super comfortable.

I was looking for gray oxfords as well, to wear with ankle pants in spring/summer (if spring ever arrives that is), and ended up buying this Born pair, mostly because they look less masculine than others. Not sure about the quality, but at this price point I'll be happy to get two seasons out of them.

This must be oxford shoe buying season, lol. The pairs I bought (1 black and 1 brown) have 2-inch heels, though I like the ones you've posted a lot. The gray color combo is fab.

They'll be great with grey pants. I saw this on a girl walking - grey pants, grey boots. Totally ran right out and copied her, kicking grey boots to the curb for (low) heeled grey oxfords.

It's raining oxfords!

This Halogen laceless pair arrived. More pointy than expected but not Winkle-pickers. I like the pointier look for some trousers especially--I'm not immune to the effect of fashion photos on my "eye"-- but have to try on more for fit; I've not had time to put them through paces with tights and hose and socks and different pants.They fit pretty well, as are wider through the actual toe joint area. Also may try a size down, though concerned that will be a no-go due to pointy, but this whole thing about socks vs. sheer hose puts my shoe sizing into different sizes.

If I determined these would be comfortable at the right size/sockwear, then they could work along with the others, mainly because I wear this type of shoe daily, like to wear a different pair almost every day, and am replacing some earlier oxfords. The PG's read definitely "fresher" for spring season (while we are having late snows and sleet now!) , but these to me are 4-season, less summery for sure, but wearable since workwear does not make such dramatic seasonal changes.
