Button-down Love

It’s cool and overcast today and I wanted to wear my neglected black trousers, which just happened to be paired with my favorite woven style shirt, a button-down (or button-up). I know these shirts are not getting a lot of love from fabbers lately, or maybe they are having a “dated” moment, but, paired with slacks or skinnies, they have been one of my FFBOs for a long time, they feel very me.

Any other button-down lovers? In defense of the button-downs, will you care to post yours? Thanks for looking, and hopefully, posting.

You look amazing.

I love button ups and will never stop loving them. They are classic item. They have such dressy and crisp integrity. I wear them less now, but still do whenever I can.

I hope button front shirts are still in style! Well, I think they are always appropriate but sometimes they have a "moment". I agree with Angie, I love the crispness of a tailored shirt, I don't think they'll ever be out.

I love my button-downs and can't imagine not having them as an option. They are fitted and I do not tuck. They may not be trendy, but they are very me and I never feel frumpy or dated in them. You look fab...your shirt fits you well and your hair and shoes keep the whole outfit current.

If I looked as good in them as you do they would be a FFB for me too. I think the way you've styled them with the shoes makes the outfit very current

You look wonderful--classy and polished. I love my button down white blouse. As a matter of fact, it's the only item in my wardrobe which gets worn year round in my four-season climate. I recently added a blue and white stripe button down and plan to add other colors.

Forget the shirt, you look amazing in those dress pants! Lucky you, I can never bet them to look that good. I fit a button front shirt pretty easily, but I struggle with whether they're my "style" or not. A solid white one might be just a touch too masculine and plain for my taste.

Mine, too. I still love them and wear them. I have a big pile of ironing to do or I would have worn one today!

In all seriousness, I tend to wear mine most in spring/ summer/ fall and less in winter, or only as a layering item then. It's purely a temperature/ comfort issue. I love the structure they give in summer when it's too warm for a topper.

Lovely modern classic look with fabulous trendy shoes. I really like the light blue with the black, which also feels very current. I still love my button-up shirts, and though I favor them a bit less at the moment they will always have a place in my core style. When it warms up my linen and light cotton button-ups will come out to play more, though.

You look great in this style. I still love them but I wear mine much more rumpled and soft and often a bit oversized (never really iron unless I need to straighten them up just a bit).
