Today is cold and icy, which meant I needed to wear my cowboy boots, which are the closest thing I have to outdoor boots (save my work boots, and they are up at the little house on the prairie, and not down at my apartment with me). I decided to try and layer some polypro long johns under my burgundy pants. Then I wanted my big cozy brown SS cardi, and I had it hanging paired with this cobalt T, initially to wear with my olive pants, but decided to just go with it. First I added a brown and white hair scarf to match the boots, but changed it out for this red and white one to try and bring the pants back into the mix (which may have been a mistake). I added a strand of multi-color jade beads that were my Granny's, plus a strand of garnet chips, still trying to tie in the burgundy pants. Finally I put on a pair of silver prayer wheel earrings, and called it a day.

I'm not sure about the outcome - don't laugh, but this mix of colors feels wildly daring compared to my usual shades of blue. I'm aware that the bulky top is perhaps not the best silhouette for someone with a barrel shaped torso, but I'm OK with that when warmth is my priority.

Is there too much going on here? Feedback and suggestions welcome.

ETA: Angie suggested fewer accessories. I knew there was too much going on, but had attributed it to colors rather than accessories. I took off the scarf and one of the necklaces (probably I could take off both, but the jade beads are sentimental and I want to wear them). Pic 4 is the pared down version.
