Dear Fabbers,
Yesterday, I actually wore brown leather coat over a fuchsia blouse and a red and fuchsia ombré scarf. I wasn’t going to post the outfit, because I am not fond of the gold shoes with it, but because Angie posted the outfit formula today, here it comes.
What do you think?

I like it a lot and I think the gold shoes look great with the outfit. They echo the gold in the necklace/brooch.

Thank you ALL very much. You made my day! I wasn’t at all sure about this outfit. Yesterday, I was thinking about posting it under a title “how shoes killed an outfit”, LOL. Then I didn’t want to be all over the forum, sorry for this intensive posting now. I have been feeling a bit blah lately, I guess this is an expression of it.

Well, you sure don’t LOOK blah, Katerina. I think the gold shoes work because of the sheen of the fuchsia top and your choice of accessories. Remember the recipe for outfit success: pattern, texture, colour, shine!

Ms Maven - I am happy you like the necklace. I like it a lot too. The “pendant” comes actually originally from a belt. I had this really beautiful luxurious white leather belt from ETRO with this gold plated and glass buckle, bought about ten years ago. I don’t wear belts any more, but I loved this one, so I just kept it in my closet anyway. Then I got the idea to use the buckle as a pendant. I wear it like this on a large ring or on a long chunky chain. I think the oversized paisley patterned shape is fun.

I think the gold shoes work quite well with the outfit, actually! They stand out but don't take over the outfit.

I think you look fabulous Katerina. The pink and brown colour combination is excellent. Personally I would switch the shoes for bronze shoes as I think the brightness of the shoe dominates the more muted browns of the outfit and draws the eye downwards. I never know if I should say something in this situation when I am obviously in the minority! But you know I love your style

Brooklyn, thank you. I know what you mean about posting a minority opinion. Please, give your honest opinion, I appreciate it very much. I have the same feeling about the gold shoes here. I liked the idea of gold shoes with this outfit, but wasn’t thrilled when I saw the pictures. I think you put your finger on it - a darker colour would look better and bronze would be perfect.

Kate, thank you very much. This bag is vintage, I bought it in a consignment shop in the nineties. There was a period then when these vintage frame bags were easy to find in mint condition, I guess they were not trending and there were not in demand. I collected a few really wonderful ones back then. Now, the shape is popular and they are quite hard to find (well, at least here where I live). I am on a lookout for similar styles, but haven’t seen one for quite some time.

The color combination is beautiful on you. Now I am trying to think if I can replicate from my closet. I think I would have tried darker shoes and decided which I liked best. That is how I usually get dressed when I have a few minutes - multiple shoe try ons!
