So today I decided to take a very traditional blazer, very traditionally shaped brooches and very traditional placement and see if I could make it fresh.

This old tweed blazer needed a little jazzing up so I put some brooches on the lapel. But to avoid feeling like the Queen Mum, i:
- used bright colours brooches to contrast the dull blazer
- did an unconventional grouping
- popped the collar
- used colour and pattern mixing to make it fresh (cranberry wool trousers, orange cashmere scarf, animal print pumps)

This feels the most risky to me as it could easily veer into dowdy territory. What do you think?
