Thanks everyone! Pattern is always so personal. And even more so if you mix a few of them. Plus the colours here are dark and subdued and I know not everyone is a fan of that. But I enjoyed the experiment.
So, Rachy, you picked it. It was mother vs husband. My husband loved it, said it was brilliant. My mum did not like the pattern mix. My husband was very offended that my mum did not like it. Outraged even! But I wasn’t.
My mum’s style is actually very maximal. Much more so than mine. She loves pattern, colour, glitz, jewellery and wears it all. But I think her approach to fashion is a little traditional. She doesn’t like asymmetry, pattern mixing, juxtaposition, frayed or distressed items, or intentionally oversized items for example. But she is still fabulous
Sally, today is the first sunny day we’ve had in a while. I must admit I’m longing for warmer weather. Even though I will be the first to complain about the humidity when it comes.
Janet, have you thought about trying a skinny belt? You could layer 2 skinny belts together (buckle them in the opposite direction to each other) to get the double buckle look. Might be worth experimenting.
Fash, I’d love some black combat boots that had a bronze patina. I would be tempted to try a DIY with metallic shoe polish if I had a spare pair.
