I'm wearing an outfit for a movie date that, by nature, isn't the most flattering on me but I think it works well for a casual night, and I FEEL casually fab. A knit short tunic, leggings, and flats. I'm wearing all knits, AND nary a skirt in sight. The devil is in the details.

The top is a thin knit, is shorter than I typically wear with skinnies, and has a breast pocket.
But it's beautiful peacock blue with chiffon trim, and the pocket is placed so that it doesn't hang awkwardly and lies flat with the top, hardly noticeable, and the curved hem hits at the right spot on my hip. The knit is thin but drapes very well. There's a gentle but low scoop neck that's lower than I usually wear, but flattering, especially with my thank-goodness-it-finally-fits NAS bra.

The jeggings are a knit and shorter than I usually wear. But the knit is super thick, and ribbed like denim with pockets and zippers at the ankle, and they don't ride down my hips like other leggings or pants do. Everything stays put.

And the flats are my very old but still loved beige and black patent Me Too Kaden flats.
