BR city chinos, A question?

I bought these when Angie first put them in her finds. After trying them on, I returned them as I thought the fit was off. They came on sale a couple of weeks ago and after seeing them on beautiful Karen, I grabbed them again. I like the fit but the pockets bother me a lot. They are very visible even in this sized up pair. Should I have them removed?

FWIW, the pockets don't bother me. I would keep them—but I love my pockets!

I tried these on over the summer too Mona, and didn't buy them for that pocket reason. Cutting the pockets out seemed counterproductive - I love front pockets, and a pant without them is kind of useless. I figured that I could find something else less sheer (because you know if it's that sheer in the front , the same is happening in the back, which isn't the greatest look ) and I did. Pocket show -through also makes the pants look like they are too tight - which they aren't on you...but you know what I mean? I would pass. I'm sure there will be others out there .

The pockets would bother me. I find them distracting. And if you can see the pockets, there's a good bet you can see underwear too unless you remember every single time to match perfectly to your skin tone....

The pockets themselves don't bother me, but I would be worried about them see through like N-Marie said. If you're not sure, I'd take them back.

The thing is that I can't return these. I have already cut off the tags and worn them twice. I think I am going to have the pockets removed by my seamstress.
I have done it before with my white bootcuts and did not miss them.
The underwear showing through is a bigger issue but most of my tops are longer in the back now so that should take care of that.

I was lucky enough to find two pair of white that we're thick enough the pockets did not show. However, finding white tops for summer was another matter....everything was too transparent for me. When will we ever get back to non see thru white garments?

They don't bother me and I would miss having the pockets because I use mine all the time. But if you won't miss the pockets and they bother you, definitely get them sewn shut. The pants look great! Especially love it with the sparkly sweater and loafers.

They look great on you Mona - stunning with both sweaters. The pockets don't bother me at all in looking at these pics, but why not have a go at removing them? I know I wouldn't miss pockets, and wouldn't think twice about giving them up - heck that's what my clutch/purse is for

I have the same chinos and the pockets do not bother me - perhaps because I sized up and they are pretty loose. Strangely enough, the pockets on my white jeans did bother me so I had those removed and sewn shut. I vote remove the pockets if they bother you a lot, otherwise I wouldn't worry about them.

They look great on you, pockets or no. I'm not bothered by the show through here...and I suspect it is worse in the pics than IRL. But if it bothers you, then have them taken out for sure. Love both these outfits.

i have these pants and i have the same concern about the pockets, Mona. i thought about having them removed, but then i thought what else will people see! i think i will just sew them shut like other pants and just deal.

alwaystrying, I always wear camis under my tops. No matter, what the season is. I have camis in every neutral shade and they make it possible for me to wear white or lighter coloured tops all year round. Have you thought about trying camis?
Aida and merwoman, thanks for chiming in. I think I will have them removed.
Tanya, I was thinking about you when I posted this question. In your pictures, the pockets are not visible at all. In Karen's pictures, although they were in broad day light, the pockets were not visible. But on me, they are definitely more visible. Sometimes, I think I could be because of my darker coloured skin. And this is a sized up pair. Any bigger than this and the pants will be falling right off me.
Suz and bj1111, actually this is just like it looks irl. I think I will have them removed as I don't like the show through.

They look great on you! I'm not bothered by seeing the pockets. But as others have said, if they do bother you, cut them out. Do keep the pants!

The pockets would bother me, but that style of pocket hits right on my widest spot, so I'm particularly sensitive to that issue. Other people don't seem to notice. If they bother you and you've already committed to the pants by removing the tags, I would have the pockets removed. That is, if you won't miss the pockets and will find that you want to wear the pants more without them.
