Today was a layering experiment for purposes of practicality and making use of a new gift.

It’s snowing (though not much on the ground) and it’s EXTREMELY blustery, blowing snow everywhere. I decided to adapt a spring 2019 favorite for winter wear (mostly indoors today.)

Resin zip jeans, citron short-sleeved cinch-waist knit top (soft sweatshirt material), satin bomber, black and gold bead necklace is my inside layer.

And these cheapo rain boots with really grippy tread that I’ve had for 10 years when I go outside.

Yesterday I was surprised with a VERY timely, unexpected and sweet package - a sweet thank you note from Universal Standard for being a customer accompanied by this beautiful black puffer bomber.

(Note: I was not asked to write a post, I don’t receive sponsorship or compensation from the company, and all opinions are my own - I am just a very happy customer who has been delighted with the customer service.)

It was such a nice thing to do, and oh-so-timely with the cold weather. Today I decided why not layer a thin Universal Standard satin bomber (one of my FAVORITE pieces) under a thicker outdoor-weight one. It worked great and kept me warm while taking the dog out! I look forward to wearing this more often, and it’s nice that it isn’t SUPER bulky but it’s still roomy enough for layering underneath. It’s a nice mid-weight puffer that’s good for Seattle’s usual late fall-early winter climate. (If I was going out for a longer walk today I’d wear a thicker puffer for more warmth; it was quite windy.)

(Available in black or eggplant, sizes 00-40.)
