Red Boden Cambridge Jeans just arrived. Angie looks great in hers but wanted to show you how they fit more average size 8 body. I am wearing them with Boden Knitted Tee in the same Red Pop color that also just arrived. Full length pictures coming later.

Can I ask a favour? Any chance you could take a measurement of them at the calf? I've wanted red jeans for ages, but I have such a difficult time with slim pants catching on my calves, I don't really want to take the chance on them without a bit more info.

ElisabethP - they are exactly 20 cm wide in calf area in US size 8. Not calf sucking at all.
Kathie - I like them a lot. But have not seen them in the mirror yet. Not sure if length is ok on me, will post full length pictures for that.

Good grief - this is no "average" size 8 body , ma'am. You look fantastic! Do you wear an 8 in most bottoms? Although I have never *done* coloured jeans before, this is making me think it might be possible....

Ok, so finally could see them other then in the photo. And I have a few questions for you, dear ladies.

1) Are they too long on me for ankle jeans, should I shorten them?
2) Is it worth fixing small gap at the back? It is not like they are falling down because of it.
3) Do you like the top? Is it somewhat boxy and shapeless?

They look great, but yes to taking in the back. Length looks good to me, but that's Angie's expertise I like the color of the top, but would like it more with a different neckline or longer sleeves.

I like the top, it doesn’t look boxy to me but sits at the waist nicely.

I think the length looks good but I’m a longer length trouser type of gal!

These look gorgeous on you Anchie - I quite like the length to be honest - just a good classic length.

Really good fit in the butt and legs - the perfect fit actually. I haven't had that waist alteration done before but I think others recommend it and jeans to tend to stretch out a bit so I say yes.

1) I like the length, but will defer to people who are more expert in that area.

2) Yes, have the waist tailored. (Reminding myself that I need to make this same alteration a priority.)

3) I find crew necks to be tricky. It looks a bit boxy on it's own, but, it might be exactly what you need under a jacket, and paired with a scarf. How are you planning to wear it?

anchie, have the waist tailored. These will likely stretch a bit. You want them to be perfect and hug you, not bag out at the waist after a few wears .... because they are so fab in every other way .
Also do not put them in the dryer after alterations (you prob knew that already )

I like the length as is and I don’t think the sweater looks boxy .

I like the sweater, Anchie. I tried it in the colorblock but it looked kind of frumpy on me. This solid is great on you. I like the length of the jeans too, from the side. The amount of ankle they are showing is nice and adds structure without being really short. I'm also a little afraid that if you hemmed they might start to look skinny because they would hit closer to your calve.
