Blue Suede Sandals

I bought these a few weeks ago and was in inspired by Ryce’s
recent posting on blue sandals (https://youlookfab.com/welookf.....ue-sandals)
to build some outfits. I fell in love with these sandals even though I wasn’t sure how much wear they would get. I had a similar love affair with some light blue suede sandals a year ago but ended up returning them because I couldn’t figure out a way to style them that I liked.

They are pretty comfortable, but probably not for all-day walking. Grey, white, red, and some but not all blues seem to work well. Grey, light blue, and white are all key colors for me this season and I have quite a bit of them in my wardrobe, more than is shown here. The Loft Cropped Skinnies in grey for example don’t seem like quite the right color, but the cropped jeans do, at least to my eye.

Would love your feedback, especially in terms of color and silhouette.

Oh I adore these, especially with the white and denim options.

They're so fun, good choice! I love posts like this because these sandals would not have jumped out to me while browsing, but they look really lovely on you and I dig the dressed-up boho vibe!

I love #3 the best. Oh and I love #6 as well - especially the top.

A hint for cleaning suede shoes- I use a Mr Clean Magic eraser to gently clean my suede. I use it dry and just go over the dirty spots gently. Cleans them extremely well.

Oh my goodness, I like ALL of these! Those shoes really are a find. #3 will be perfect for the shower.
I wouldn't have thought to pair a burgundy top with the white jeans - it looks good! Hope you don't mind if I "borrow" that idea!

Hey pants twin! (#5, which looks great with the sandals!). I love 3 - the way the sandals pick up the color in blouse, also in 2, but the white pants just make it all pop.

I think they all work well, but 1 is my least favorite - maybe the starker contrast of all white top, all dark pants, then back to lighter shoes. I like the contrast much better in 4 - maybe because the transition between light pants and light shoes?

Fabulous on you, and SO great to see you in lighter footwear -- it really works with your colouring. I agree that they are not absolutely the best with the grey pants, but they look JFE with those, and fantastic with every other outfit. WIN!!

Gorgeous shoes and I like them best with some ankle showing so we can see them in their glory. With longer sleeves on top I would roll or push up the sleeves to balance the ankle. #5 seems just right.

I love them . Disclosure : I have a new pair of pale blue suede shoes I haven't worn yet so I'm somewhat biased toward the look:). I like them with all but the burgundy top. I don't think the shoe colour is strong enough to work with a solid dark like that . And can I be my mother and suggest a lipstick to balance the colour palette ? If that's off-side , I apologize . I haven't eaten in 2 weeks and am having a glass of wine in retaliation.

Beautiful shoes, and I love the pale blue color. I'm sorely tempted, but I don't need them, otherwise I might hit the purchase button. I like all the looks you showed, #3 in particular. You look fab!

THanks Ryce! I keep thinking of that burgundy top as a fall/winter top, just because of the color. In reality it's fairly lightweight and I'm trying to find ways to wear it more in spring/fall. Of course you can steal the idea of wearing burgundy with white pants, that's what YLF is all about! Totally agree with you on Naturalizer...they are a "comfort" brand but they do keep up with trends too, at least enough for me. They always fit well and are comfy and the prices are reasonable.

Karen13...hah, good to know other wear RL jeans, they fit me much better than some of the higher end designer brands. And I see what you mean about light top/darker pants/lighter shoes being stark contrast. It's also a more traditional look I suppose.

Janet - great observation about the shoes being like light denim. YES! I had not thought of that but I do have light denim on my mind this spring.

LisaP - of course I love your bias!!! Interesting comment about being not a strong enough color for the burgundy top. Your comment about your mother cracks me up! I definitely need some lip color, I just don't bother at home. If you were my daughter I'd tell you to eat a little food with that wine! (BTW I'm not old enough to be your mother so just consider me the bossy older sister...a moniker I've been accused of many times)

Today's blog posting reminded me that I also have a light blue bag that I bought last summer...I just got it out and it will be great with these shoes for a matchy matchy look...and ignoring my cashmere scarves in that same color I also have a lighter weight one...yay!

I think these are beautiful and I love the bag and scarf you just posted. I have some sandals about that color that don't get a lot of wear but now you have inspired me! I particularly like the red top and the way the light blue pops with these shoes, and #6 also.

Wow, these all gorgeous!!! really, you're set for spring/summer ref pants outfits! My fave is nr 5 (that laser cut/brod.angl. top is K2K!), but nr 1(white top is also fab here),4,6 all are very chic and stylish! I like nr 2&3 also(esp de coral shirt looks so fab on you!) but would try with a brighter/darker color shoe to balance out the contrast between top and bottom part. Then the blue printed top from nr 6 would go soo well with your lighter blue and white jeans, too! YLmorethanF!!!!:-)

Great outfit combinations by the way, but as Shevia posts, rolling the cuffs to show a little ankle will increase the style quotient.

My personal preference is the blue and white outfits with these shoes because I find that palette very soothing. However, they're a really nice contrast with the red tops and it looks really good

Thanks Lyn67...that laser cut white top or perforated as I like to call it is a brand that I usually don't buy any more because they tend to fall apart quickly....Liz Claiborne by JCP...but this one has been a summer workhorse!

I love all of these looks, Chris -- but that #3 is really, really beautiful. The proportions are great, that red top is amazing on you, the pants fit perfectly, and the shoes are just right. LOVE.

I think the shoes work in all scenarios but I love them most with the lighter pants (white and lighter jeans), then with the dark jeans, and finally with the grey crops. Because the grey are crops it's clear they are casual enough and warm weather enough to wear with the sandals so they are fine, but it's a kind of dense grey, isn't it? I think you are smart to pair them with the light airy blouse as in #1; that helps the whole outfit head to toe work really well (better than #2, to my eye). I would want a more solid shoe with #2, somehow.

Ooh cute shoes! Please don't return them - you wear those pale pastel colours very well.

Here's a random thought on silhouette. It might just be the camera angles, but the strong vertical lines in 1 and 6 look particularly flattering from here.

Viva you are right that the pants are a sort of dense grey, and I agree that #2 probably needs a darker shoe. I think that red blouse works better with full length pants on me than cropped ones so I probably would not wear that combo now that I'm looking at it more closely.

I think these sandals slip their way into your wardrobe beautifully. Love that they are such an unexpected colour.

I really like 3,4 and 5. I'm not crazy about #1, I think it's how/where the horizontal line of the top cuts your body. A little semi tuck would solve that.
