Dear YLF,
I've had great fun during this challenge, and I've seen so many inspirational outfits from all of you, too! Due to my recent setback with migraine, I didn't get started until Wednesday.
Finding time for taking photos this week wasn't easy, and I finally had to cheat by recreating the outfits today instead. I posted a few suggestions that I would choose from in the beginning of the week. I've worn three of the outfits and played with two. The last one has to be postponed because the t-shirt I need is nowhere to be found in my household - it belongs to a teenager, nuff said!
The blogger outfits I chose was selected because I find them inspiring, but also with what I have in my wardrobe in mind. I haven't bought anything new, but I have borrowed a little.
#1: Angie's Golden Oldies
Wednesday, working in my office: I was inspired by Angie's casual golden oldies and tried to recreate it with what I have. I don't have a denim shirt, so it had to be a pinstriped cotton button down instead. I don't have the selection of shoes and bags that I could wish for, but I borrowed my daughter's crossover bag, only for the photo shoot. I wear my specs, a watch, and my snakeskin flats. Outside this is too cold now, so I wore Chelsea boots in black when commuting.
#2: Angie's Semi Structured Ensemble
Thursday I wore this at work (meetings, teaching etc). I loved this outfit when Angie posted it, but I lack most of the elements to recreate it properly, really. I tried to juxtapose the colors and emulate it as best as i could. I wore brown booties instead of light ones, because I don't have that. I wore a patterned scarf, but I wish it would have been bigger. Otherwise I think this was ok, very comfortable and perfect for my job.
#3: Allie's Monday Gray
Friday, working from home: When I saw this outfit on Wardrobe Oxygen, I instantly thought about my gray a-line wool dress (Mette Møller). I think the original outfit lacks some punch, but I added dotted tights and a necklace to get more texture.
And then I played a little in my closet, too, but these outfits haven't been worn yet:
#4: Daytime Sparkle
I have a glitter top that I never wear, but I have kept it agains all odds for almost ten years. I thought this outfit by Allie on Wardrobe Oxygen was inspirational, and tried to emulate it. I don't have boyfriend jeans, and sky hight heels are not work appropriate for me, but these Clarks are low heeled and comfy enough. I think I could easily wear this at at night out with friends.
#5: Fall Mix by Atlantic Pacific (with blogger pose!)
I loved the colors and the silhouette in this outfit. Again, I don't have the exact garments, but I picked my black bomber jacket, a bouclè skirt, cognac heeled boots, and I layered a black turtle neck under a striped top in gray and navy. I also added my Wayfarers to get the right attitude. Then I tried to pose the blogger way
So - five blog inspirations turned into five outfits. How did I do? What is your favorite among these? Comments are always appreciated. Thanks for looking!
