Black Ankle Boots: The Search is Over

Thanks to input from YLF, I decided which pair of black ankle boots to keep, and it was none of the choices I had originally posted!

These won out because they are equal parts tough, edgy, feminine, and trendy. The heels are higher than I was seeking, but still workable for me for MOTG / casual / weekend purposes.

Photo 2: I'm showing a few of my attempts over the course of the search. I didn't even try on the pair of Kickers (far right) that I ordered because they have a big logo embossed on the side and I am not a logo person.

I also included a photo from the weekend, the first time the new boots got worn, with my standby MOTG nursing dress, black leggings and scrunched knee socks, spotted scarf, and sporty cashmere (zipper cardi).

Sheepishly, I admit I ended up with buckles, even though I had been adamantly against them in my criteria! But I think the style of these boots is defined at least as much if not more by the zippers, shearling, and lug-soles than the buckles.

Good choice! They look even more casual than some of your earlier picks, that's a good thing because you know they will work with your lifestyle. Sometimes I think we try to hard to buy things that will go with "everything", and they turn out to be so boring. These look fabulous on you!
