Cocolion made a comment on Janet's thread how her outfit should go in the Best of 2016 file.

Post your favourite WIW of the year in here and tell us all why it gets your top marks. Is it because it was the most stylish, a new direction for you, or it felt the most authentic.

I am not sure if we should do a Worst of 2016 file too? Probably not.

I will go with this dress- worn to a 20th wedding anniversary party. I love wearing the dress, I loved the party, I was comfortable. I don't get many chances to dress up to the nines so seize my chances when I can. For me this look is authentic (elegant and modern).

This is a great idea for a thread. You look so glamorous and you're right about just looking comfortable and relaxed like you dress up all the time

I just started doing WIWs again and don't think I've really nailed any outfits yet. But I look forward to seeing everybody post their best looks!

We usually do a thread at the new year with our favourite outfits...but I am happy to take a peek and see if I can pick just one right now...I'll do that. And then compare at the new year and see if I bested myself.

I agree with Suz that one outfit is a tough call! I tend to think of any outfit that involves my Ombre jacket as being my favourite outfit of all time. Ever. Until I next wear it with another outfit...

Great thread. I felt regal and authentic on Halloween dressed in an elaborate green velvet gown. The full on Medieval queen get up is a little much for the grocery store and school run but I loved it. I must be a maximalist for sure!

You inspired me to wear a print kimono with a dressier outfit. If I remember correctly, you paired yours with a black dress. I paired mine with a silk blouse, tube skirt, and lace up block heels. I will come back and post a pic if I can. Sorry about poor photo quality. Thank you for inspiring this look!

I'm going to pick the outfit I posted yesterday, and I chose it because I thought (and said) I would never ever ever wear flared cropped pants. Reminded me too much of my school days when I was the tallest girl in class and my pants were always on the short side. But then my poison eye started seeing so many of my YLF friends post fantabulous outfits with cropped flares, and....well, now I'm loving the trend. It took me a while to come 'round, but I did, and this is the result.

Thank all, I was a little premature on the thread!! And then ran away to do chores all weekend (gardening, trip to the refuse centre, cleaning the house, all the essentials)

Karie - I love your outfit here, that is how I love crops to fit and look. I also think the light booties make a great contribution to the look too.

My favourite this year (at least so far) is definitely the outfit below, a favourite formula of mine. It feels authentic and fun, is super comfortable and flattering. And I wore it a lot on summer evenings to meet up with friends, for drinks or a concert. So, happy memories!
