I have a love/hate relationship with belts.....but they can form an important function, both stopping your pants from falling down, but secondly in completing an outfit.

At the moment I don't have the right collection.  I currently own six belts (outside fabric belts that came with a dress or coat)

• Three black - one wide belt that sits at the hips, one thicker belt for mid rise jeans, and one thinner one that works with higher rises.  The thinnest one gets the most wear but none are currently workhorses.

• One plaited dark brown belt - very rarely worn, maybe twice in total

• One tan belt - good with denim at a high rise, in regular use

• One plaited metallic belt - I used to wear it more, but rarely now.

I have been keeping my eye out for a white or blush belt. I used to have a white belt with stars on it that I adored, but after about 15 years it did become far too tatty to wear.  It needs to be leather and I don't want it to skew 1960s mod.  

I do have a fondness for patterned belts, but I rarely see belts that I want to buy.  I have revised my spending limit upwards and have come to the conclusion that belts are something that should not be decluttered...
