Because of Angie -- Work OOTD

So if it's obnoxious for someone to post too many WIW's, I hope someone will message me and let me know : )

I mostly want to share my happiness at my decision to implement Angie's expert advice: my favorite crops really do look better worn with a brand new pair of ankle strap shoes!

Also, I think this white-over-darker outfit works for spring transition weather, but I am very interested in your feedback. The top's colors are much muddier than what I usually wear, but I bought it for its flattering cut and the pretty detail. Five years later, I still love it, though I rarely pull it out of the closet.

First two photos show the jacket buttoned: much less flattering, I think, than wearing it open (3 and 4). Detail of blouse in #5.

Well, if this is the kind of WIW you are going to post, bring them on! I really love this outfit on you. And, in fact, I saw this very jacket today and passed it by even though I was looking for a light colored jacket! Somehow I thought it was too white or rigid or something, but it looks pretty fab here, and I love it (especially unbuttoned, which seems breezier) over the darker column. The crops are perfection with the ankle strap shoes! Are those shoes in Finds? I'd love to look more closely at them. You look happy in the outfit, and you should!

I figured out how to do finds and added them to my post, Viva.

So the shoes on DSW.com come in 5 colors. There's black leather, beige leather, animal print, tweed fabric if I recall correctly, and this faux leather charcoal/pewter. Only $50 shipped.

I ordered the jacket sight unseen and am very happy with it. I hope I can keep it looking good, but it's so nicely made that it will hold up to frequent dry cleaning I'm sure. Did you see the trench detail in the back? It runs really big -- I'm usually a 12-14 and I ordered a 10 and it fits perfectly

Love! I prefer the jacket buttoned, but it's great either way. The pant's length is perfect for the shoes.

I love this outfit both ways the light jacket says Spring with a capital S. The new shoes are indeed a find as they work so well with your pants. I love the proportions of this outfit, your legs look so long.

well i'm a huge black and white fan….this is a perfect spring work outfit. i agree, i think as shown, the outfit works better with the jacket opened. if you want to wear the jacket closed, i'd try it with a longer shirt underneath.

I think seeing a lot of WIW, particularly in the beginning, helps the forum members grow more familiar with your wardrobe and style -- the better we know you, and the more we see the outfits you're currently wearing, the more helpful we can be.

I love it when someone says, "I think you you try that skirt with your black cage sandals." Yep. Because they actually remembered that I had cage sandals.

Love the swing of the bright jacket over the crisp. perfectly fitting pants. You're right (and so is Angie) that the shoe silhouette is elegant and flattering. I love DSW, and will have to check them out!
