BD WIWs dressy skirt and denim

For once I hit it off with today's post, actually a few days before the post.
This is what I wore for my birthday, two outfits for one day.
I will show them to you backwards, as I wore 2 first for an appointment and I think that's quite a good outfit.
Then I changed to my birthday outfit which was the dressy skirt and chambray top, seen in 1. The top shows that line on the chest which is not there all the time. Excuse the strong shadows in the photograph, that was the best I could do at the time.
1- BR flower skirt, Loft linen top and chambray shirt from ?
2-BR flower top and Ryan fit pants, Halogen linen jacket.
Somehow I have found items that I love and wear a lot from BR. How about you, have you found good items from BR or another vendor that have been useful and versatile for Spring, Summer and maybe early Fall?
If you have any thoughts on how to improve the outfits, please share.

Hope your birthday was great. I haven't had great success at BR in the past, but I've seen some things here that make me want to take another look. And I'd like to try on a few fits of their pants. You look great in both outfits.

Happy belated birthday! You look beautiful in the blues and orchid tones....not to mention the white pants! I also like the BR skirt on you a lot.

So fun that you beat the ensemble post.

It's funny how every now and then a retailer will come out with a line that just hits our sweet spot, filling many of our seasonal wardrobe needs in one swoop. For me, it's often J. Crew. I didn't need to buy a huge amount this year but most of the items I kept did come from there.

The floral skirt is FAB on you. And purple is your color. Both outfits are great but I love the skirt one. The proportions are just right.
I read something recently that suprised me, BR has more sales every year than J Crew. J Crew does more advertising, has the catalog and seems to get talked up more in magazines and on line articles. But BR consistently beats them in sales.

Yup. I can always find something at BR. Same with J. Crew, Club Monaco, Zara and Nordstrom.

I hope you had a happy birthday. I love the skirt. It looks cute with the chambray shirt. I never buy anything at BR because we don't have a store here and I don't have a sense of their sizing. As much as I like JCrew, I have found that it doesn't like me, unfortunately.

-delurked, I also want to try the New Sloan fit, I am hoping it is slightly less bodycon than the old one. I have been able to return garments at BR without any hasle so I pretty much feel free to order in a few sizes and in regular and petite in order to compare and get the best fit.

-Suz, you got some great and versatile items! I can envision many outfits just with what you showed and the toppers will be very useful for the AC or cool evenings. I love your flower skirt, too.
I will check out JCrew.

- Anna, maybe BR sells more than JCrew because BR's sale prices are better? BR is quite predictable in that at some point you will get what you like at 40% off and the price points seem to be lower.

-Angie, thank you, the pants outfit feels like a happy outfit to me because of the way the colors come together. The pants are not jeans but are the BR Ryan fit which worked out well for me. I have to check out some of the other stores that you mentioned.

-JAileen, if you want to try BR you can order a few sizes of the same item online and return by mail as they have free returns but you need to do that efficiently because returns are only for 45 days from when you ordered. I mostly buy online and always return at the store but free returns may work as a good option for those who don't have a store nearby.

Joyce, I think both outfits are fabulous.
I love the yellow and purple in the second, tempered a bit by the floral.
Also love the chambray and floral of the second.
I think both outfits have a little bit of contrast (dressed down chambray with dressed up pencil skirt / bold graphic colours with florals) which makes them interesting.

I've bought ALL my clothes at BR this summer. I'm really happy with their basic merino t-shirts. They also have a lot of good pant options that suit me.
