I love the Christmas season, but I have come to realize that it’s intense and stressful. Lots of extra commitments, on top of work being in a bit of a frenzy. So less essential things like posting on YLF go by the wayside.

Angie’s blog this morning was personally reassuring. Let’s face it, my style is nothing like the rest of the forum’s. I have experimented a lot and tried new things, but I come back with joy to the silhouettes and items that work best. I don’t see that changing much.

So here are my first two work outfits of 2019.

1. I embraced the Fair Isle trend, but in a form I have long had on my mental wishlist: a fit-and-flare dress from the Swedish vintage repro company Emmy Design. It was a splurge! But I love it.

2. Boden knit dress. This is rather extra bodycon from the last time I wore it, yikes. I changed to black ankle strap heels when I got into the office.

The big white puffer is still going strong! The last two days have been wet and cold and just around freezing. No road problems (yet) but waterproof boots are important.

My hair is continuing to grow, just a couple inches shy of my waist. Of course it looks shorter when curled. And I am still loving the high bun look. My messy bun was getting tricky with the increasing length, and I really like the effect of BIG hair, so I ordered last week a couple of hair doughnuts. This is the extra large one. It’s kind of crazy, but I also kind of love it. It helps that no one gave it a second glance at work!

And yep, I am wearing a hair flower in January. It makes me happy!
