We had a lovely trip to Melbourne. Travelling in winter 2022 led to a few disappointments (our friends had Covid so we couldn't see them) and my son had a diversion to Sydney for 24 hours without his bag (he is 20). But it was good for the soul to travel....

Travel Capsule
I ended up tweaking my planned capsule a bit https://youlookfab.com/finds/c.....tion=11509. In addition there were a couple of scarves that I don't have finds for and my running shoes. Two tops were unworn - everything else got worn at least once.

I wore my jeans two days, my cords one day, and one day was a mix of activewear and my brown trousers. I felt warm enough and dressy enough for all activities. We loved Hamilton, the "footy" (Australian Rules), eating out around town, seeing some other friends, and adventures.

Street Style
It was fun to see what people were wearing and what was in the stores. I wandered through Louis Vuitton and Gucci to look at their designer bags, belts, scarves and shoes. In the most part, luxury doesn't appeal to me, my style is a bit more rugged and unpolished. That's good as I don't have the budget!! On the streets and in the cafe there were lots of 1980s influences, some 90s. At the theatre there was a mix from sequin party dresses to puffer jackets, and everything in between. The main difference between a large city and the small city where I live is the confidence and panache that clothing is worn. It encourages me to be bolder.

What I purchased
On my shopping list were new glasses frames, a coat (if I found the perfect one), and a tote bag.

I did find glasses frames but they are away getting made up to my prescription now. I love them and will show in a few weeks.

And I bought a coat selected for me by the super sleuth shopper Brooklyn. She suggested I check it out - and I did - and I bought it because it has been a HEWI for me. I adore it. It was from Veronika Maine.

I also added some palazzo pants ( the geometric print has yellow, blush, black and white in it) and I am in love with these too. These were also from Veronika Maine - and the recent blog on palazzo pants was part of the inspiration.

Lastly a tee featuring my all time favourite, The Boss, Bruce Springsteen.

I didn't get a Tote bag - I saw some I liked but nothing that I had to purchase on the spot.

WIW
1. The reality of travelling - wearing a puffer jacket half the time.

2. Brown trouser outfit worn to Hamilton.

I love this thrifted burgundy, black, blue, blush and rust scarf. It works so well with my winter closet. Best $7 spent this year.

3. Summer stylings of palazzo pants.

4. Winter stylings of palazzo pants.

5. Two ways I have worn the coat - casual and dressy! The colour is called Antique Rose and the find is pretty accurate.

Let me know any of the styling options for the palazzo pants that you really like - or any that you don't think work. There are three footwear choices, three tops and one topper, plus four different bags. I have a few other options available to me (other sneakers, black pumps, other black tops, and a pattern mix)

Thanks for looking.
