Often times it takes me awhile to put what I learn here into action. My job and volunteer work sometimes leave not enough time to attend to my wardrobe issues. Last month I was fortunate enough to accompany my husband on a trip to Hong Kong . A few months back Angie wrote a post about Chanelesque jackets and how the ones without collars tend to look nice on those of us with shorter necks who are larger on top.
Armed with that information I decided to give the tailor where my husband has his suits and shirts made a try. The tailor is Simpson Sin and they were lovely to work with. I was so pleased with the first jacket I ordered a second which was made from my personal pattern and sent to me promptly.
Jacket 2 is a multi color boucle with double piping trim. I have been wearing it with a round neck white tee and jeans. I actually feel pulled together and confident in that ensemble.
Jacket 1 is a bit dressier and had a fine gold thread running through it. I wore it with black trousers, black silk cami and okala pumps with a thick gold chain on Thanksgiving. It also looks lovely with a plain black dress. It is double pipe trimmed with gold and ivory.
These 2 jackets have fast become go to items in my closet! These are baby steps but I'm on my way.
