Aussie YLF Gathering - 5 Day Countdown!

5 days to go until the Aussie YLF Gathering in Brisbane! OMG!!!

I'm already in QLD, on a bit of a fishing trip at Monduran (about 4 hours north of Brissy). It's soooooooooo warm here and I'm loving every second. Will post special pics of my "Fishing Outfit" later (yes, it is possible to fish with a bit of style...or at least have fun trying ;-P)

I won't reveal my full outfit, but I will say it will feature the dress featured in the pic below. Just so you can recognise me and all ;-P

Can't wait! So...the countdown begins. 5 DAYS TO GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

But, I'm being really quick right now because... my laptop has DIED

So I'm not at home right now... Hoping to get it sorted in the next couple of days, but we'll see.

If I don't get back in the meantime, I am DEFINITELY coming, and will be in touch via text if need be... but hopefully I'll make it back in the next couple of days... If I cant sort a replacement, I'll go to the library!!

well I have a *very* temporary fix on my laptop and can use it for short periods of time before it crashes again!

I'm very excited (just printed out my flight itinerary in case the laptop dies again!)!! Despite Angie making a fabulous suggestion as to what I should wear, I'm probably going to do boring jeans... I'll be cold on the plane for certain, and if its only 23 on the day, that will be cool to me - we're up at 30C most days already here! (although the 90% + humidity is the big killer!)

Courtesy of my laptop dying my budget for shopping is now next to nothing, but I do want at least 1 nice new top to wear with my jeans, so figured I may was well wear the jeans!

Yay Yay Yay! How exciting! I can't wait to meet you in person Theresa. (I'll probably be wearing boring jeans too - because 23 and rainy is just too cold for me to wear the summery dress I had planned....) Although, I have just bought a new top which I love and am hoping I can style so that I look adequate for belonging to the YLF gang!

My hubby keeps gently teasing me about my "big day" this coming Saturday afternoon. I just know that work will be extra painful as watch the minutes tick slooooowly by until I can reach you all in the city where the fun will begin. Just don't burn out before I get there, ok?!

My outfit is sorted...I'm braving the dress...possibly over jeans. 23 is balmy as for a Canberra gal!

Ahh I'm so jealous I wanted to see Powderfinger as well but couldnt get the tickets!

You know even though the temp is going to be 23 it will still feel like about 27, humidity is increasing recently and I still think it will be decent weather. Rain wont bother us in the shops Still havent worked out what I'm going to wear!

Ok in the last day flights have just become $100 cheaper if I leave early in the AM. I'm going to take the plunge and book! What time are your flights Theresa? Maybe we can share transport from Airport. Have not been to Brissie in I don't know how many years, so I'm a bit clueless!!!

Megan, this means you HAVE to book too. ahaha

Oh, and its only hit above 20 degrees in Melbs for handful of days so far in the last few weeks. Feels positive tropical so I think I'll be wearing light layers, and maybe even my first SANDAL wear of the season!

Tam I'm so super excited that you are coming too!!!! My flight gets in at 8.45am... But I'll be leaving my house at 5.30am to get up to the airport in time, so despite not usually drinking coffee, I will no doubt have my fair share too LOL

Are we meeting at the Myer or the Coffee Club so we can grab a bite to eat (and coffee!!) first? Coffee Club is on corner of George St and Queen Street

Camera's - I shall have mine - it does actually take surprisingly good photo's for a bargain buy I've discovered! (I got it for $88 because the upgraded model had been released - the week before it was selling for $250+ apparently LOL).

Oh and can I just say how proud I am of my laptop for staying alive for this week!!!!

I just have to add... I've had a rather testing week with "family", so please don't be surprised if I burst into tears meeting you girls - i am really looking forward to spending the day with people who I consider "friends" and relaxing after this week!! (just thought I'd warn you so you don't all think I'm some nutter who bursts into tears all the time ROFL)

Oh, you poor thing Theresa. I get where you are coming from. I'm still utterly exhausted after the wedding - it wasn't until this morning that I realised I am most likely so tired because I'm emotionally drained.

Don't worry, I know for one, that I will completely and utterly understand and I'm sure we all will - we can trade off on "my family is worse than yours because...." type stories. I have some really good ones........ In fact, I say to my SIL's when talking about my brother(s)/their husband(s) and the stoopid things they do/have done that "I had no choice because we are related, but you have no excuse - you chose him.....!"

Do you guys have any idea where you will be around 1pm(ish)? Pretty please say "somewhere around the Queen Street Mall / Myer centre", because then I can find you without freaking out!

What time do you fly back in the evening? I'm trying to work out what time I should tell my hubby to come and pick me up.

Oh, and I just had to add that my poor hubby is slightly confused because he keeps calling our get together the "AB FAB" reunion. I giggle and wonder which character that would make me. Ah, poor confused poppet.....

So pleased you are coming, Tam. I thought we were meeting at the Coffee Club, or at least outside it, so we have a landmark to go to. We should definitely have a coffee and a gossip before we shop!
Theresa, don't worry - I have won the "Nuttiest Family" contest for 5 consecutive years, although my husband may just win this year. I will certainly not think you are mad if you vent!

KP & Sharon - yes, families are so much fun at times aren't they LOL!!

As for Itinerary, I'm thinking along these lines...

11am - meet outside Coffee Club for sustenance
12noon+ shopping LOL

From memory of the mall, I think heading straight to the myer centre will probably be the best bet because there is a Myer (obviously!), as well as lots of speciality stores in one complex - and I would imagine we could be there for a fairly long time so KP you should be able to find us! Then we could venture further down the mall towards DJ's as the afternoon progresses.

I have to be at the airport to catch my flight home by 6pm so I'm figuring I will have to leave by 5.30 at the latest (what time do the shops close on a Saturday - does anyone know?)

And besides bursting into tears when I meet you all, don't be surprised if I am in total awe of all the shops LOL This is my closest Myer store and it was only last year that our regular shopping centre expanded to include more than just Big W, KMart and the main two jeans shops ROFL - so I'm very "great shops" deprived!

Oh and Tara - Powderfinger were AWESOME!!! 2 of the Jet boys were vomiting though, so Jet didn't perform (and I was actually looking forward to them the most!), so Powderfinger just played longer for us! So, I just hope Jet are well enough for you tomorrow night!
