Well, I FINALLY figured out how to get the pics off my new (9 months old) phone suitable for posting. I had continued to do outfit pics, semi-faithfully, but I have missed getting feedback. So here goes. Comments and suggestions welcome. Please overlook the photography technique.
No true spring yet (the buds are barely showing) but it is warm enough to forsake boots and to go stockingless, so I am breaking out the skirts again. This time of year I crave springlike colours, mostly blues for me; this is a lull between the blacks and greys of winter before I pull out all the summer navy and stripes.
1. and 2., WIW to work on Friday. Sweater, ModeChoc (I think it's a Quebecois fast fashion chain?), grey skirt, Cleo, red coat, thrifted (my Duchess of Cambridge coat), shoes, my beloved ghillie brogues by Clarks.
3. was for a desk day, a bit more daring as less public contact; also trying out the shoes for comfort. This is my stab at short over long--the hipbone-length T is short for me. It is navy with tiny white dots, provenance forgotten, and I love how it looks with the Banana Republic chambray button-up, also with tiny white dots. Skinny ankle pants, Ricki;s. Black patent oxfords, thrifted.
4. and 5., feeling the skirt love again. This lightweight cable boatneck sweater is new from BR; it was a HEWI for a long time, so I am making it work for spring. Navy and silver belt and pebble-print full skirt, thrifted. Looking back I wonder if I should have tucked the sweater?
6, is my "ladylike" outfit for church last Sunday. Silk cardigan (present from DH) belted over white shirt (The Bay) and the Cleo skirt. DD liked it.
7. and 8. are from the previous Sunday. This is somewhat inspired by MaryK's colour mixing--it feels bold to combine the cool blue of the floral chambray top (Joe Fresh) and the warmth of the tan skirt (Talbot's, thrifted with the pleats still stitched down) and ivory Gap cardi plus the metallic shoes (thrifted, with ghillie lacing again). Later I tried it with the cardi partly buttoned and belted, I think I liked that better.
9. Extra outfit with the cable sweater, this time with glen check pants (more like my usual winter silhouette, without the usual scarf).
10. and 11., another attempt at short over long top, this time with a skirt and my navy Clarks shooties. I couldn't resist matching the dotty T with reverse dotty socks. 11. is how most people see me, which tones it down a little.
12. and 13. Bonus Easter egg manicure (the dotted one in 13. is DD, who also made the candy nests).
If you;ve stayed with me this far, thanks for sticking it out!
