Annagybe, I don't know if her fashion vibe is the same, but her face, colouring, and athletic build...well, yeah!

OK, I'm actually still working on a few others, because some of you totally remind me of celebrities that I cannot now remember the names of, so I'm feverishly googling away. I'll get back to you.

@ Deborah - I don't think she's a twin, (more like an edgy cousin) but I bet you'd like some of the looks Kate Lanphear puts together. She plays a lot with monochromatic textures and draping, and interesting silhouettes. And she is another member of the blondes in black clothes club. She also has the same haircut as the awesome lady from Odyssey, which I think would look AMAZING on you too.

There are some great answers here. When I was a kid, I used to get told that I looked like Marcia Brady. Not even like the actress, but the character ! LOL .

I remember running through this a while back http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....-celebrity
what's more fun for me is watching those same celebrities age, and how I am or am not aging in similar ways.

FF, Kate is one of my style icons.. how did you know. I have actually taken photos of her to my hairdresser to discuss and my hairdressers says it would work but we would do a slightly neater version lol. I just have to get my courage up. Thanks, you have encouraged me no end.

Ooh, FF, if you think of one for me, I'd be excited to hear. You are doing a much better job than the internet!

Finally found a pic the online generator recognized, but I don't think the results are all that helpful... especially that pic of Britney Spears...??

One of the administrative staff at my dentist just recently told me I look like someone on a new TV show involving burglars, but I forgot the name of the show and can't find it to save my life. It's such a novelty to be in any way compared to a celeb for me.

Kate Lanphear is definitely my style icon, but I don't really look like her.

I might look a little bit like Tilda Swinton. I can dream, right?

Edit to add: But re-reading the original post - Kate Lanphear is absolutely who I keep in mind when I'm indecisive about buying something. If I absolutely can't picture her wearing it, I don't buy it. I do wear plenty of things that she wouldn't, but they're things I love, not things I'm unsure of.

I don 't think I have any celeb twins. The older ones have curves. Possibly an older Anna Wintour if I had fringe?

Also I feel like most celebrities with the rare exception of someone like Tilda Swinton don't have their own style. It's all the work of stylists and a lot of freebies from design houses.

@ Greyscale - you and Tilda Swinton, yep definitely! She's so awesome.

@Una - you remind me a bit of Rebecca Hazelwood. #1-2. I love her.

@Rae - how about Marisa Quin? #3-4. Am I doing better than the generator?

Doing this has been so fun for me. I think it's cool because a lot of us look at ourselves and think, "those celebrities ar all so unacheivably pretty - nothing like me." Hopefully something like this can encourage us to realize that hey, we're all just as fabulous and pretty as those ladies, and we can take inspiration from them, too. No more of this, "well, on HER, sure it looks good, but not on me..."

Joy I think you definitely share an elegance and class with Anna Wintour. Her fashion choices these days always seem a little safe but then I guess she knows what works for her. I would say you are more eclectic and more of a risk taker.

I'm not skinny enough even now, but I look a ittle bit like Lauren Graham. Maybe it's the coloring and the fact we're both tallish. I totally loved her wardrobe in the Gilmore Girls days and definitely tried to emulate the look.

If anyone's looking for women of color to emulate as far as style, Kristen kreuk 's character in Beauty and the Beast and the gal in Sleepy Hollow, whose name escapes me at the moment, both have an interesting but actually practical vibe happening - both their characters are cops, and it makes me so happy that they're not chasing bad guys in short skirts and heels!

Ooh, dang, I'll take it! lol. Interesting that she is part Apache - when I had long hair, people used to ask if I was Native American. I wish there were more street style pics of her.

Laura, I would so love to resemble Lorelai.

@Anna - forgot to reply in my last post. I totally know what you mean about that "generic celebrity hot lady" look. Sometimes I find it helpful to just pick out one trait, for that very reason. For instance, when I first dyed my hair red, I looked up a bunch of pictures of Christina Hendricks, Amy Adams, etc, just to see that colors they wore and what makeup flattered their coloring. Same could work for ladies who are extremely chesty, extremely thin, etc. Just pick the one feature you're having trouble with, and ignore the rest

*gasp* I just found a photo of Tilda Swinton in essentially the same glasses as me! Clearly we are twins.

Have I mentioned that when I was a teenager everyone told me I looked like Ally Sheedy in the Breakfast Club? I think they were referring both to style and personality.

I have never even heard of Rebecca Hazelwood, but I immediately thought, "Wow, she looks Indian!" And lo, she is part Indian, part English. I am super flattered because she is gorgeous - I could only wish to look that fab.

To play the lookalike game, we need close-ups. And here's just the thread, courtesy of moi!

I'm giving Suz one of my female crushes, Jodie Foster!

It's fun reading the responses here. I'm celebrity-knowledge-challenged, so I can never come up with someone whose style I'm familiar enough with to say I want to emulate it, and I haven't come across any celebrities who remind me of myself.
You can count me in that 50% who would like to look like Jennifer Aniston-hahahaha!
When I was a kid I did at least admire some dark-haired types, like Sally Field and Mary Tyler Moore. Also admired the looks of Katharine Ross, Princess Caroline, Caroline Kennedy. When I did thedoppelganger thing on Facebook I got Selma Blair--uh, whatever.

Oooh oooh - do me!!! Someone told me once that I looked like Valerie Bertinelli in Touched by an Angel...

Oh and I won a Heidi look alike competition when I was 2 - does that count?

If anyone has any other doppelgangers for me, shout!

Rae - I am sure I have thought that you remind me of someone and I cant think who for the life of me!

Caro reminds me of Judi Dench.

Years ago when I was younger, when my hair was slightly longer, I wore my contacts instead of glasses, and when she was alive, I used to get told I looked like Princess Diana. I got told this on many different occassions over the years and by people that didn't know each other.

I don't know if I have a celebrity twin. But I guess there are many celebrities who don't have a distinct style of their own, so I'm not sure how helpful that would be. They also often change 'type' with hair color and corresponding makeup.

Interesting! Karie, I actually can see why people made the Princess Diana comparisons. There is something similar.

Ruth, your celeb twins are beautiful but you are more beautiful!

Hil, I think you are as pretty but more interesting-looking than Valerie B.

Una, that's my first Jodie Foster comparison. Thank you! Her features are much sharper than mine, though...

When I was young and wore my hair the same way, I used to get compared to Faye Dunaway in Bonnie and Clyde. (1)

The ones I get more commonly (and have heard throughout my life) include: Mia Farrow (2), Julie Andrews (3, 4), Sharon Stone (5), and Annie Lennox.

This is why I think the comparisons are mostly about hairstyle rather than anything else. Though (the older) Julie and Annie do have a bit of the urban prince about them.

Oh, Suz, you are totally Bérénice Bejo!

Thanks, Ali! I remember that comparison. She is so pretty. She actually looks a lot like my stepson's ex-girlfriend...I do see in the expressions and face shape/ eyes some resemblance and maybe the type of mischief...but her colouring is so different from mine. Still...I will take it! Oh to be 20 again.

So funny, Rae! If I tried that, I'm sure I'd get the same results.

Ah ha ha! Joining late, but late is better than never, right? Just had to say that I totally KNEW that Una was going to say that I looked like Claire Danes. DH says "no," though. When I was younger, I got Barbra Streisand a lot. And the thinner, younger Bette Middler. Yeah. Not exactly what you want to here at 17 when you are feeling all awkward and insecure. I much prefer to humor myself with Claire Danes.

No one's really ever said I looked like a celebrity, though an artist friend of mine recently told me that she thought I looked a lot like Amy Poehler. Not a bad celeb, if I have to pick one. Otherwise, I'm open to suggestions!
