Semi-OT: Do you ever get told that you look like a celebrity?

This almost never happens to me because celebrities tend to not be very um, diverse for one thing, but it happened today (although I do not think we look too similar).

Who do you get told you look like, if anyone?

I've heard a couple times that I look like Brooke Hogan... lol. I definitely do not see it.

I never get told that I look like anyone, but people tell me I sounds like Demi Moore all the time. Whenever one of her movies comes out, I hear that comment incessantly. Too bad I don't look like her!

Maya, we have discussed this before and when I said you looked like Penelope Cruz you said you had been told that by others! Was this someone different?

As for me, I occasionally got compared to Courtney Thorne Smith back in the original Melrose place days

When I was in high school someone told me I looked like Jena Malone's character in the stepmom: http://www.imdb.com/character/ch0014959/ I don't agree, but it was so specific that it stuck with me.

Usually people think I look familiar when I've never met them before.

Nope, never. Though once I was in an elevator in the US Patent and Trademark office and this lady was convinced I had relatives in Pennsylvania, which I don't have.

Oh, that's right Anne. I forgot about that! I don't think I look like her either, but everyone on my study abroad in France did. I wore a lot more makeup back then though :p

Una, that's really interesting. I would never know to make a comment like that. Voices don't stick with me unless they are very distinctive. I got told by the guy who came to fix my laptop in college that I sounded like "the Asian girl from Daria" :\ Yet one more thing that I don't think is remotely true...

If you're counting voices, back when I used to sing I got compared to Gwen Stefani ALL the time which annoyed me because I really worked so my voice wasn't as thin as hers (it's thin but not that thin).

yes, all the time. Apparently my celebrity twin is Rachel Weisz. You might remember at NYC meeting Tarzy made the same observation. A couple of weeks ago, I was on a plane. This woman, who had been sitting right next to me and had not spoken a single a word throughout the whole flight suddenly turned around and told me that I look like the actress who played in "The Mummy." One of my friends even wrote a post about it on her blog and posted our pictures side by side.
Needless to say, this comment always makes me very happy. She is very pretty imho and one of my favorite actresses.

Anne - I can definitely see the resemblance.

I have been told I resemble 2 different celebs...and I wanted to cry each time...neither are someone I would aspire to look like..EVER

Ok this is weird. I just did an image search for more pictures of Rachel Weisz, and the related searches on Google are Rachel Weisz legs and Rachel Weisz feet :\

Taylor, I have no idea who you are talking about but I DO know you look just gorgeous, so whoever those celebrities are, they should feel very lucky.

Noone at present, but back circa 1994 or so, when Claire Danes had a part in the "Little Women" movie, I got told I looked like her at least twice a week for a few months.
Not the "My So-called Life" look, of course...I guess she died her hair to play Beth March or something.
I do wonder if I resemble anyone.

I'll have to think about that Michelle. Offhand, I can't think of anyone. You remind me more of general moments in history, especially film history for some reason. I have no idea why. Something about you is just very old Hollywood to me

But sometimes these things just hit you over the head like a ton of bricks. One of the founders at the company I work at told me this today. He said it has been nagging at him for a while and he just couldn't figure it out, but apparently his daughter is a huge Glee fan and it finally occurred to him because of my hair and my "smallness and shortness."

Michelle - I definitely think you look like Claire Danes. I found a picture of her with a bob and she could be your sister. I am posting the image here for others' benefit.

I forgot to add that that particular version of Little Women is one of my favorite movies. While I despise Amy and Laurie's choosing her breaks my heart, I have a sweet spot for young Christian Bale in that role.

Now- nobody. I used to get Mary Stuart Masterson back when she was doing a lot of teen movies. Not long ago, someone stopped us in the grocery store because they thought my son was a celebrity. I think they thought he was Rupert Grint (Ron from the Harry Potter movies).

I got told once I looked a bit like Blake Lively (a very nice compliment) but I don't think it's a bit true. Only resemblance is the longer face and pointy chin

I think the only reason my boss thought I look like Lea Michele is because we have identical hair:

Waayy back in the day I was told by more than one person that I looked like Jamie Lee Curtis. I never saw it but I took it as a compliment. I think it had a lot to do with the hairstyle I wore at the time and similar coloring.

I have gotten a lot of celebrities over the years for some reason. I must not have a very unique face... hahah!

In High School I always got told I looked like Katie Holmes. I've been told Christinia Ricci. Lately I've been getting a lot of Leah Remini... even from hubby.

A woman at work has told me more than once me that I really look like a character from Warehouse 13. I've never seen the show, but I did a google image search and am guessing that she's probably referring to the redheaded character. In that particular picture, the actress looks more like Marianna (with red hair) to me - it's something about the smile.

I can totally see Claire Danes as Michelle. Keep that in mind when choosing the cast for the biopic of your life!
