Rachy, culottes and tall riding boots are a fun combo to try, will do.

Angie, thank you for all the outfit ideas. I do not like for myself or wear pleated pants or non-slim pants tucked into tall boots, so unfortunately those ideas are out, which includes the fave in your link. #6 is interesting: relaxed full length pans with sporty shoes, that one may work. And I like the idea in #s 4 and 7 of belting the jacket.

I have an equestrian jacket in lilac from last fall that I'd like to wear a lot this fall (in the Finds), so I am looking for trendy bottoms + shoes combos to wear with it, beyond skinny pants tucked into tall riding boots, basically an update to the 2015 ensemble formula.

Tanya, what about the trending leather or pleather pants and skirts? That would give the jacket a bit of edge, without being as confused as the black oxfords.

Tanya - I like cropped slim pants with a very chunky boot, either a combat boot or a chelsea with lug sole. I can also see this, not pants with those skirts that VB makes - high low, midi with this jacket, even a dark floral and a chunky boot. Did you try these, out of total curiosity with your pedal pushers? With a patterned knee sock and chunky boots - almost a scottish look? Really soft culottes - almost a split skirt with something like an ariat lace up paddock boot. Also do you have any joggers? I'd like to see this with a jogger or Nili lotan military style cropped pant and boots. Leather pants or coated denim in black. I'd love this jacket with a tulle or chiffon skirt and chunky boot like todays blog post. Also have you tried belting the jacket for a different look? swapping out cowboy boots always good. Don't know if any of that resonates but that is what came to mind. Love the jacket! Mine is similar but I love the longer length - very elegant!!

I really like the two looks you've linked! Equestrian is classic but a refresh as you suggest would be fun.

One of Angie's pics includes a ruffled shirt - reminded me of this one - it also is a bit longer - might be worth trying an untucked dressy shirt.

I’d take a cue for some of the old time equestrian photos…midi skirt with tall boots or i like the idea of this blazer with wide leg pants, but not really equestrian

Gryffin, wow, some many excellent ideas, thank you! A lot of these resonate with me, but I don't have all the items you suggest (e.g. don't have a tulle/chiffon skirt, all of my joggers are of the super casual/loungewear variety). But I will play in my closet and try everything that I have. I don't have a VB midi skirt, but I have a asymmetric pleated one in paisley pattern, and the colors may work together.

Sloper, another fun idea. I will see if any of my shirts are an option for that look.
