I'm considering these culottes as an additional NAS buy. I haven't worn wide leg culottes in years and never in a dressy fabric, so I need some guidance.

What specifically should someone plus sized (I am on the cusp between plus and straight sized) wear these with to avoid unflattering proportions?
What length should the hem hit at? Just below knee as on the model as maximum length?

(I have a feeling these are a little long for my legs so I would probably need them hemmed.)
