Hi Everyone!
Even though I've been around in the comments, it's been a long time since I posted a WIW. This time I have a question: Are cropped flares still in style or are they "so last year?" I really don't see anyone wearing them in my everyday life. I wore them today but haven't worn them in a while (because of our super cold weather). I could always turn them into straight crops if they'd be more fashionable that way.

BTW, the pants are hunter green, not blue like they appear in the photo. My top and necklace are both blue, just not the pants.

I think they look great. I honestly think anything goes almost at the moment.

Skinnies are still absolutely everywhere - I see some cropped jeans, some boyfriend style, flares, bootlegs, distressed, mid-wash, dark wash, some released hem, some frayed hem, some stepped hem.

While higher rise seems to be prevalent - I have one pair of a lower mid rise that I wear, often covered, but I wore them with a tucked top and I thought it still worked.

Unless you want to be right at the cutting edge I think all styles are a goer!!

And nice to see you - are you still sewing rather than buying? And how did that go?

I'm wearing mine, and I see quite a few crops when online shopping.

I haven't seen people wearing them much at all around here (Midwest).

I believe they are indeed on trend, but honestly, I have yet to see anyone wearing them in real life. Perhaps that will change as the weather warms up.

Thanks everyone! Sal, I am still sewing and not buying. I have made a bunch of sweatshirts for at-home wear to keep me warm, plus a few other tops and pants for going out / work. I am working on making some spring clothes now.
Angie, my necklace and shirt are both blue, but the pants are actually hunter green, not colbalt like they appear in my photo, and not the shade of green that they are in my finds. They are the J Crew Teddies from Fall 2016.

Those look great on you, Karie. I struggle with them, but tried my old pairs on this morning and think I'll try to wear them while the weather is cooperating (i.e., before it gets ridiculously hot here).

They totally look blue and not green on my monitor too!

Thanks again everyone! I don’t know why these pants always photograph as blue. Probably because the shade of green has a blue undertone to it (I call it hunter green, but who knows) and I do always wear them with blue (blue and green is my favorite color combo). In the original photo the pants just looked dark blue, then I tried to color correct in Photoshop and they ended up cobalt like the necklace.
I have one other pair of cropped flares and a pair of cropped kind-of wide leg jeans, and I‘m getting them out now to wear before our weather gets cool again. I’m so happy these are still on trend!

I don't see cropped flares around here, either. It's all skinnies, and skinny ankle length, all the time, except on the teens. I see palazzo pants and other wide legs making a surge forward in the youngsters!

I spent most of the winter in my bootcuts. No one was wearing those either, but I knew how to make the proportions look good, and I'm so over skinnies!

Love the proportion in your pants, and I think the flare makes the look! It's more intentional than a tapered ankle pant would be.
