I’m on the hunt for new frames, and I’m feeling overwhelmed by all the choices. I’ve read and re-read Angie’s guidelines for picking out specs, and I’ve wandered through the forum trying to gain extra knowledge from others’ experiences. I still have a couple of questions about color and shape.

Color – I have blonde hair and brown eyes, and I find myself gravitating toward brown frames all the time. In fact, the pair I have is brown. I’m pretty sick of them in general because I don’t feel like they create enough of a contrast with my hair and eyes. I’d love to find black and white frames, but that has proven to be challenging. And I don’t want colored frames, though an inner color of some sort would be great. So, my question…how do you know which colors look best?

Shape – I keep gravitating toward the same shape every time I try on frames. Ideally, I’d like to have several frames, but left to my own devices, they’d all look the same and would probably be…ah, you guessed it…brown. Are there ranges of frame shapes that look good on different face shapes? Or should you just stick with the same general shape and try to vary the colors?
