Are These Stompy or Refined Boots?

........I'm asking about my new super cute SE lugged sole NAS boots that I love and are sooo comfy and lightweight. I need more tea, because I don't know!

Hmmmm. Maybe somewhere in-between? A polished ruggedness? Chunky in a soft and pretty way? Pseudo Stompy!

And do these looks qualify although this is a dress (yes, I've posted them before!). Imagine it's a skirt. Or we can simply boil it down to the formula my way

I think they are definitely stompy boots. Look at the sole. Now within stompy boots, they are on the refined side. Look at the color, look at the simplicity.

I think the definition of "stompy" is related to the wearer. On you, these are stompy boots. Because of your usual penchant for more refined footwear, because you tend to be dressier in your outfits, and because of your slender frame.

On someone with a larger frame, who tends to dress more casually, and who typically wears more robust footwear, these might count as refined!

Hmm. A very fun outfit.
The boot style is stompy because of lugged sole, but they are a unique animal since are total white- out.
Also might give a bit stompier vibe if hem falls a bit above the boot shaft.
Not that that is your goal, but just think of different looks.

I would agree that the boots are stompy (lug sole), but on the refined side. Love them with the dress, with all the toppers. Fun outfits!

IMHO the lug sole makes them stompy but the color, especially the light sole makes them stompy lite.

We made up a word some years ago when we got a Sunday newspaper that had a “shoe of the week” section, the first section I always went to. And my husband learned, or already knew, my taste well. He would look at some and go “too clompy?”- which I think may be a mix of clumpy and stompy!
I think I don’t like my boots to be very “clompy” so most in the blog post are too much for me. Yours look more refined than some because of being one colour I think. They suit you, but I still prefer your less clompy ones!

I wore mine for the first time today - with jeans, not with a skirt yet - and I say stompy for sure. They were so comfy - so glad I have these! Love them on you with the dress. Definitely looking forward to trying them out with a dress or skirt!

I agree that the colour lightens it up but that style is a stompy style. I love them but always worry about keeping my white shoes white. Then I worry if they are too white, they look too new. I like my clothes and shoes to look lived in. I realise that is a bit weird.
