April challenge - day 6

We returned home to very similar glorious weather which made transition back little bit easier.
Today is errands day, going grocery shopping, to pharmacy and post office. Household chores in the afternoon.

I am wearing my newish big pants which got some mixed reviews from friends and family. I was told that I look even bigger in them, so that kind of sting but I wanted to experiment with different silhouette. Maybe mistake?

You look fab! I tried on a pair recently with similar pleating in front and it did enhance the weight I have picked up in the tummy area. I bet they comfy. If so, stylish and comfy is a Win-Win in my book. Your gold MJ's look perfect with these pants.

I like your pants! The pants and sweater define your waist and give you a nice shape and gives the outfit structure. I like the gold bag and shoes! Very elegant. I think that is just the nature of pleated pants. I have a few pairs too.

LOVE the look on you, anchie! The way you've styled them with a welted slimmer top adds lots of structure, and tempers their volume. Very flattering and on trend to my eye!

two things:

Remember that looking bigger is not the enemy. Fit and proportions are key. You nailed it!

Remember that items with volume can also make you look smaller.

Thank you all for the positive feedback, I am happy that you don’t think that they are mistake, because I find them very comfortable to wear after squeezing in too tight pants.
Jenni - I gained quite a bit of weight in relatively short period of time and that didn’t go unnoticed.

I have begun pairing dark neutrals, especially two prints together, first two navies and white then two black and whites together. They later I plan to pair them with plain dark neutrals and more prints. It will also be helpful for travel packing and a smaller closet. Here are some with black and white white prints. So far I have used wide belts, another orphaned wardrobe item. I have found that I need to look for shorter belts. I’ll be back with yesterday’s navy and white prints.

Here are some images of yesterday’s outfit featuring navy and whites. I added a navy cardigan for warmth Pat of the day. And took off a white groometed belt that is just too big. This outfit had a large white belt with grommets which was too big to wear.

Joy, what expert pattern mixing, this is fantastic outfit, I love it so much, maybe my favorite of yours so far.

Surely we have to adjust our eyes for the new pants silhouettes-

compared to some sticky stretchy or slim pants

but it looks current to my eyes and I still see you same size as ever in them! You styled it great with a more tailored sweater revealing your slim torso so I don't think you look bigger at all!:-)

Came back to advice on trying with no hosiery or tan sheers for showing some skin in the mary janes...think that will help reducing the perceived volume, too!
