Anyone Else Wish There Was a Home Decor Equivalent to YLF?

I am working on home decorating projects for the holidays (bedrooms are all getting freshened up), and I was just wishing there was somewhere just like YLF, but for home decor.
Or maybe there is? Anyone know of any good sites or boards for home decor?

I used to really love Apartment Therapy. Very active site (several based in different cities, actually), very cool stuff, lots of fun (and not just for apartment dwellers).

Yes please! I was just fantasising about this the other day. I need to do WHWs (what my house wore") and "does this work?" posts of my house!

But it would have to be as kind and all-accepting as YLF - to start with, I'd just be pleased if I could post a pic of a clean room...

The closest I have found are Apartment Therapy, Design Sponge and Young House Love. Though, only AT has some sort of an active forum

Try HGTV's website. I staged houses for a while and I was really into home decor. I can't remember the page, but I think there are forums where people comment/help each other and maybe even where the TV designers chime in or choose you for their show.

The board at Better Homes & Gardens used to be very active and had some very talented people. I redecorated my bedroom this summer and had a blast with it. I changed the accent color near the end of the process and am very happy that I did.

I burnt out on decor forums a few years ago, but Gardenweb's That Home Site forums were BUSY and had lots of pros and talented amateurs participating. Their forums are divided into decorating, kitchens, baths, and specific technical areas (lighting, flooring, etc).

I'd also love to see a home decor site focusing on decor-on-a-budget and living in an apartment (where many changes that are suggested on most home decor sites such as painting walls, adding fixtures or basically drilling anything into the walls, changing out hardware, etc.) are either not allowed or are improbable due to being in a rental space.

Couldn't we post our home decor on the "other" board? I'm not sure if that is allowed or not. I'd love to get some decor ideas as my home may be in need of some re-decorating (or a little dusting).

Wouldn't that be great?! I go back and forth between home decor obsession and fashion obsession. This is a fashion year, but a few years ago I had a mad 3-year home decor streak. Probably a lot of us live this way!

That would be fun. I have some training in interior design and have worked in the field, but I often value outside opinions. Our house is very contemporary and has some challenging spaces! Plus I love helping others with design ideas.

There is a HGTV site called "Rate This Space" that seems like the home decor equivalent of YLF...people post pictures of spaces in theiir homes looking for ideas or for opinions about complete projects. I haven't posted pictures of my home yet, but have thought about it....check it out

Kari, though Apartment Therapy has grown to cover a lot of ground, it's main focus remains decorating challenges of apartment living. Check it out when you get a chance.
