Anybody want to plan a week of outfits with me?

I planned my outfits last week and it made the week go much more smoothly -- especially after an almost-all-nighter in the ER on Thursday! So I thought I'd do it again. The forecast is for triple digits Monday, then in the 90s for the rest of the week. So cool and simple is the order of the day. A couple of days I'm even foregoing the jacket! *gasp*

Looking at the photos really brings it home that I totally have a formula for work outfits -- skirt, top, blazer, pumps. But this week I am mixing it up a little because outfit 3 is sans jacket and outift 4 is just the Magic Dress, all by itself. But I guess there's nothing wrong with a formula if it works, right?

Anybody care to join me this week?

BTW, I couldn't have done it without Kitty's close supervision! LOL

You are so organized and I love how you put these together! Love the vibrant colours and the outfits have Mary written all over.

Kitty is the cutest! Great to have a helping paw!

BTW - I'm not that organized (wish I were!), so I'll just watch from the sideline. Much fun and very inspirational anyway

Lots of blue! No pants this week, eh? These all look great, very matchy :} I shall enjoy from afar, I can barely manage to stick to something I plan just one night in advance; I always change my mind by the next morning, silly mood dressing. (Though I did come up with all my LA outfits the minute AJ posted about it...el oh el, I'm totally not going to stick to it by the time October rolls around ^^)

MaryK, when you put these outfits together, do you try it on as well to make sure all the pieces play nicely proportion wise or do you just make last minute adjustments when you get dressed for work?

I may plan ahead as well as I am inspired by you: it is easier than coming up with and outfit in the morning (unless it is FFB one).

AJ, in the best of all worlds, I would try them all on. This particular set is mostly things that have worked together before, so I skipped that step today. If they were new combinations, I would definitely try them on during the planning stage.

Sveta, I think the kitty looks particularly nice with outfit 5!

And Aida, I am choosing to take "teh matcheys" as a compliment! (It seems too hot for pants this week!)

Now, if I could find a way to copy your formula, adapted for WAHM. Maybe you can offer some suggestions. Trading out the skirt for jeans is my usual solution. But it doesn't QUITE cut it, because that means the bottoms are pretty much always denim or white. True, I could look for coloured jeans. And I have looked. But I haven't found great fitting ones. And then there is the whole pattern issue. It's a dilemma.

Suz, I had a fantastic pair of olive green skinnies that I wore constantly until I tragically splashed them with bleach. They were a great alternative to denim or white bottoms. Any shade of khaki would work, too.

Thanks, MaryK. You're right. I'm definitely on the hunt for coloured bottoms. I DO wear skirts even at home from time to time (wearing one right now, in fact) but jeans are undeniably more comfortable and practical for the days I'm pretty solidly at home. I am going to look for some burgundy/dark red jeans for sure this fall. Surely I'll find some. And army green would also be fab with navy.

I love this formula and it completely works for you MaryK. Each of these outfits is fabulous - I positively adore your use of colour! I do plan my outfit the night before but not sure I could a whole week. Love kitty's input BTW!

I find weekly planning very helpful, but usually end up only getting through 4 days. Just in case a rain day pops up, I like to have one day as wiggle room for outfits.

Kitty is killing me! What do you do about fur on your clothes? Our behemoth of a cat sheds on everything she touches. And sits on it. Your outfits look fab of course and I love the blue bag!

Shevia, I made sure Kitty only looked and didn't touch,and the garments were on the bed only as long as it took to photograph them! And I take off my work clothes the minute I get home, so she can't sit on me while I'm wearing them. Even so, let's just say we go through a lot of lint rollers around here!

I'm enjoying this thread a great deal. I'll try to play. I cannot guarantee Mon or Tue but I'll be packing for a a three day trip Wed - Fri. I can share those pictures!

I am so impressed by your organization. These outfits look great! I am a pick in the morning at the last minute which is so inefficient and time consuming. All the outfits look great. I have a short work week (just two days ... going on vacation on Thursday. Hooray). I can do that .... probably.

Mary would love to play but this week is a funny one and lounge wear will be in order before and after a very minor medical procedure. Maybe next week?:)

I am a bit of a mood dresser so sometimes planning that far ahead doesn't work for me. I do usually plan the night before. But sometimes I wake up thinking I would like to wear a particular peice and then the outfit comes together around that... not good though if I sleep in lol

I'm in - and I just planned my outfits, but won't take pics until morning so I don't have to use a flash!

I actually did plan my outfits this week but that is because I am away at a conference and had to pick things to pack! Normally, preplanning does not work for me at all, I'm just too flaky, LOL. I still do not know which outfits I will wear which days, and some of the pieces can mix and match so I may still change things around.

They're pretty much all tried and true combos although I did bring my new white blazer.

I am working hard to reuse clothes/outfits and so here is my plan for the week:
1. white on white on white with gold sandals
2. tulips and navy with gold sandals
3. white silver with blue tie dye wedges
4. blue and yellow with green shoes
5- and finally blue chinos, my flowered blue and yellow blouse and blue tie die wedge sandals...I will post that one when I wear it...as it may not get used if I end up working from home that day and haven't tried it to see if it will work.

and I might reorder to avoid wearing same shoes 2 days in a row.

jayne - that is a fab week you have planned! I especially love #3. And you do yellow so well with blue. nothing better than reusing great outfits!
