Any boots girls out there?

Hey ladies!

All this talk on flats vs. heels lately has got me thinking. It has clarified what I already knew! I am a boots girl, through and through. I would much rather wear boots in all but the hottest months.

Are there any other boots girls out there?

If you love your boots, what do you wear when they just aren't appropriate or when it is too hot?

I am finding out that I am a boot girl, too. I have fit and foot issues that make finding comfortable shoes very difficult, but not so with boots and booties. I go right from booties into sandals, with Converse in between on heavy walking days.

Me, me, me! I love my boots for so many reasons. I think they look great with everything AND are more comfy than other shoes (no edges cutting into your foot, can wear socks, no flying off my foot, and have room for insoles and things).

When it's too warm and humid for boots, I have a few pairs of comfy summer sandals and a few pairs of mary jane type shoes. I cannot wear ballet flats or really anything without an ankle strap of some sort, because my foot won't stay in. I also for some reason find most closed-toe shoes really uncomfortable without socks - I think my Dansko mary janes are the only ones that I can really wear w/o socks as 8 hour shoes but they are suede and not necessarily summery-looking.

Oh, I am definitely a boot girl. They make me feel powerful and grounded -- plus, my feet don't slip forward in them when wearing tights! I have about 8 boots... and a sad 2-3 pairs of sandals, even though I live in LA. When it's hot, I end up wearing the same nude huaraches over and over.

I have, however, made it a goal to flesh out my summer capsule this year, so I suppose I'll buy more sandals.

Thanks Lynne! I did remember reading that, but couldn't find it with my quick search (I think I looked for "spring boots" instead of "summer boots"). I love boots and do tend to have cold feet, but in most cases I don't do daytime summer boots because we do have 95 degree days regularly in the summer here. Of course, we do get a dramatic temp drop at night, and sometimes that is enough to pull out my more "summery" boots for an evening. Other than that, the only time I wear boots in the summer are "cowboy or hiking boot mandatory" situations.

I could live in boots year round. I really struggle in the warm weather to find a suitable substitute!

I always wear them when it is warm and not appropriate. I live it southern California and own more pairs of boots than I care to count.

Totally a boots girls. I even have warm-weather boots. Partly because I have leg-grooming woes, and boots just work well with that.

I love boots and I think they are pretty much always appropriate. I do tend to wear different ones in the warmer weather though.

I'm in SoCal--its rarely so hot that boots feel silly plus the nights get cooler.

I am so very much a boot girl. Our transitional seasons here in Maryland seem all too short, so there's a brief window of time in the spring and fall when I wear pumps and loafers, but otherwise, I get the most wear out of my boots in the cooler months and sandals in the warmer ones.

As for boots in the warmer months, I'd love to, but hot, humid summers in this region = no boots in the summer for me!

Me. I don't like open-toed shoes in general... Maybe because my feet are always COLD! If I lived in Hawai'i I'd give you a different answer.

I wear boots virtually year round. We had a cool Summer and I wore my Summer boots and apple green cowboy boots all Summer long. I have as many boots as half my age. My feet are happiest in boots. I LOOOOOOOVE boots.

I like low heels pumps, flat oxfords and ballet flats too. Not a big sandal gal.

I'm a new convert to boots. I won't be giving up my pumps any time soon, but my hemlines are certainly happier with the increase in boot wear! They also match my fashion persona really well. Seattle's weather is mild, I could probably wear boots 7+ months a year (depending on weather patterns for the year).

Me too, Elly ! Like Chewy and Diana, my feet just do better in boots. Plus I am lazy, I don't have to worry about socks. My feet stay warm, dry and comfortable. I probably wear them Sept/Oct. to April. I do have a couple of pair of flats ( 3 for Spring, 3 for Fall ) and some nice flip flops ( cover your eyes Angie ) and a couple pairs of sandals.

I have never done warm weather boots, but I plan to try this year. I am coveting these ( but I don't think that I have the guts to wear them ) :

To clarify, my post included all flat or heeled footwear including boots, not just ballet flats vs. pumps. I was asking more about the idea that something heeled is better than something flat.

I have always favored boots and really don't get along well with any other kind of footwear. I'm willing to spend very generously on boots--more so than any other type of footwear, or clothing for that matter. I'm appointing myself captain of Team Boots.

I love boots too! I've found that my favorite footwear cannot be slipped off or on, I need it to be strapped onto my feet, so pumps and ballet flats just aren't right for me. It's boots and sandals all the time, with the occasional t-strap heel!

I love boots. All the time. With anything.

I live in Seattle where summer is just a drier version of winter. Except for our occasional week-long heatwave (in the 90s), I can usually just keep wearing my boots.

My favorites are my Frye Campus Boots, but I also have an awesome pair of Ariat Rodeo Babies that I love for warmer weather wear.

I'm very much a boots girl. I love boots, although I don't always wear them because I live in the tropics, and knee high boots can get very warm!

But anyway, my current favourite pair of boots are probably not what you'd expect, and I certainly never expected to love them this much when I purchased them!

Some time last year I acquired a pair of combat boots (not the fashionable Doc Martens kind but the real military/police boots). As strange as it sounds, it has actually started to become a staple in my wardrobe! One of the main reasons I wore it so much I think, is that it gives my feet a really really good support I've never found in the usual fashion boots. I don't have very good feet/knees so I need shoes with proper soles. (These ones are shock absorbent so they don't stress my knees too much either!)

Anyway I got more and more addicted to them that I forced myself to match it with more outfits. And surprisingly it really matches some of my dresses and skirts.

I've been clattering around all winter in my black cowboy boots, wondering where they'd been all my life. Bought three other pairs in different styles and heights ... and am now impatiently waiting for my new Fryes to arrive!

I'm very much a boot girl. My only caveat is that my calf size makes *finding* a boot that fits properly to be a big challenge, so I do not have very many pairs compared to the number of pumps that I own. Unfortunately my calf size at the very top seems to have increased a bit in the past year so even some of my current boots are a bit snug. I want to take them in to see if I can get them stretched in the trouble spots so that I can get more wear out of them next year!

Yep, I'm all about the boots. When it's hot, I'm a sandals girl. Like several others, I'm go straight from boots to sandals, and right back to boots when it gets cool again. I've never found a comfy pair of ballet flats, and all of my fancy shoe are t-straps because otherwise they don't stay on my feet! I never have that problem with my boots! I do have a difficult time with my calf size and ankle size, but finding the right boots makes it all worth the trouble.

I am a total boots girl, and I wear them year round. When I can't wear boots for some reason, I wear oxfords or my Danskos (which are actually pretty edge for Danskos).

Yup, that's me. Total boot girl! I have a pair of perforated Carsons I wear in the spring and in the summer if it's not too hot. If I'm not wearing boots, I'm wearing sandals (gladiator or nice thongs or clogs). For other shoes I only have one pair of flats and one pair of Converse.

Oh! I can't believe I missed this thread. I'm a total boots gal. Where I live, you can wear them for 10 months of the year. I like to wear tall, flat boots with a short skirt and no tights in spring weather, when it's not quite warm enough for sandals.

If it's too hot for boots, it's probably too hot for closed-toe shoes, too, so I wear sandals.
