I'm doing this mainly for myself - I know that all-black outfits are very hard to look at.  But I'm finding this exercise helpful in figuring out what I really want to keep in my work wardrobe.  I"m cutting my hours back to 4 days a week effective March 1st and this will be my last year of purchasing work clothes.

Tuesday - new this winter loafers - MK (ugh ,but I like the silhouette and they fit really well ) ; stretch wool barrel trousers from Massimo Dutti (few years old and I don't wear them a ton ) The side entry pockets bug me and aren't placed well for my body . Should have paid attention to my initial reaction and returned them but I didn't .  Silk front mock neck top from Athleta  also a few years old.  Starting to look too washed and worn - and might be time to move this one along. I've decided Athleta is not a brand I need to keep looking at - the 4 or 5 pieces I have from them are just not fabulous .  Lululemon provides MUCH better quality for the money.  Worn with grey/red track jacket. Just a so-so outfit.

Wednesday - feeling Canadiana-ish.  Team Canada 2022 Winter Olympics t-shirt (Lululemon), old Athleta joggers and my favourite Puma platform sneakers.  I have never worn this t-shirt to work and I think I will be now (contravening that dress code again - haha) - I loved the pop of white and the Canadian image. I actually have only worn it twice since buying it 4 years ago . Worn with my grey/red piped track jacket.

Thursday - feeling worn out by the constant cold weather.  Old cashmere sweater from Saks Off Fifth, washed black 90's straight leg GAP jeans (love these, the length, the fit, everything about them).  New this winter Mary Janes from Naturalizer. Never wear these shoes. I was obsessed with finding a pair of MJ's this fall and then promptly ignored them.  Hopefully they'll get more play in the spring.  I felt comfortable in this outfit but not terribly polished or authoritative.

Friday - this was a hot mess and I hated it all day. Old Aritizia crepe joggers (love them but I need to remember they are better in summer with sandals).  Old - and now tossed - crepe side-piped shell top purchased specifically for under a work jacket. It's too big, always has been, is not flattering , and why am I hanging on to it??   Plus the boots (MizMooz)were a serious mismatch.  Another obsession purchase from this past fall, but they are too soft and delicate a leather to wear to work. They get marked up by my office chair and just aren't supportive enough .  Not sure why I even bought them. I think they will be relegated to wear with a cropped jean or heavy cotton pant.  Could not get this outfit off fast enough . Also worn with the grey/red track jacket. New this winter red cashmere triangle scarf from Le Bon Shoppe .

Saturday - best outfit of the week  (Saks Off Fifth) and one of my  best buys of the last few years. I get tons of compliments when I wear it , which is only about once a month (again contravening the dress code, but I was in charge in the building yesterday so rules be damned).  Worn again with my favourite Puma sneakers and artsy/craftsy black leather earrings.  Outfit is starting to show wear though (it's stretch knit acrylic so expectations were low but still.....) and needs a good de-pilling.

Thanks for looking - and reading.
