Ankle pants with black straps

I bought last year these sandals, but haven't worn much. I knew the look lovely with dresses and skirts, but I'm on a pants mood.

This post is eye opening. Can I get away with rolled up jeans or should I buy a nice pair of black Ankle pants?
I feel something is wrong here, but not sure.

Note: ignore the messy hair. Bad hair day!

I like the pants and the shoes together, it works (to my eye). I'm distracted by the jacket and blouse. The hem of the blouse the hem of the jacket and the sleeve length are identical, making a very strong horizontal line across your hips. Visually it shortens your leg line. Maybe tuck the blouse in, roll up the sleeves, just play around with moving the lines around so they don't all rest on the same place. I do love the yellow though.

I do see what BA is talking about -- the jacket is boxy, and the top sort of follows the same lines. The hem hits around the same spot, and the high neckline with that style of collar sort of emphasizes the boxiness. But there's nothing wrong with playing up that boxy shape if that's what you're after. Personally, I would choose something with a lower neckline and scrunch the sleeves, but that's me.

The yellow jacket looks great on you - it would be interesting to try BA's ideas and see if you like them better but I think you look good here. I think the jeans work with the roll but a pair of cropped black pants would give a different vibe.

The black ankle straps work very well with the black trousers. Nice remix of a shoe meant for dresses. I always enjoy when items work double duty. I don't mind the emphasis of boxy in this look, that is a gorgeous yellow jacket. And I like the remix suggestions for the jacket too. That yellow is such a happy color!

I have to first say that I want those shoes AND that jacket. You look fabulous as always, Rute. Really! I just want the entire look!
I'm not opposed to the alternative stylings suggested, either, but I love as is.

I love this outfit! I say wear a top with a lower neckline and/or scrunch the sleeves for more structure if you want that but it is fab as is too, IMO.

Looks great to me Rute! I think the roll works very nicely; actual ankle pants will give you a more streamlined look, but perhaps not by enough to warrant a new pair. Try going with either a thinner roll, or wider but flatter.
