I am working to get back to posting more often for my casual WIWs. Angie's formula from yesterday was perfect for easy summer days. I do have shoes planned for this outfit, (bronze sandals) which 18 mo old DD is currently tromping around in! LOL.... Thanks for looking, feedback welcomed

Dress- Patagonia (self tie sash replaced with dot scarf)
Hat - Victoria Secret (thrifted)
Bag - Coach (ebay)

Anne, I also have this one in the magenta/white floral. Plus 4 on the bahnda, 1 morning glory, 2 vitali and another patagonia summer dress but i cant remember the style name. Needless to say, they are my summer uniform! Although after having no short I bought a few pair of YLF inspired clams and bermudas this summer too.

Jeanne, of all my hats, I feel this is the hardest one to wear without coming off as matronly, not sure why I think that, but I am glad it is working today

Manidipa, thanks! I have a natural IT build, and have been doing a lot of swimming for exercise since hurting my back about a month ago. Although you have to be careful what you wish for in that... here is an outtake showing what (to my eye) is a bit much masculine arm!

I really appreciate everyone's lovely comments! thanks especially for ringing in Angie, I will continue to work on wearing this hat with spunk. I was told today the had looked very "author-y" by a stranger who doesnt know I am an author (interesting...) -- i think to me it read a bit more eccentric and flamboyant than i am used to. But I like it.... I wish I had time to respond more personally to your comments. But alas, i just checked in for a moment and have got to run out the door now.

I'll take your shoulders and arms over what swimming does to my shape most days, Sarah! I, um, grow *between* the arms... and end up having to go bra and shirt shopping. Unfailingly! Silly pectorals...::grumble::

I will reiterate --- you have a shape to show off! Your arms are BEAUTIFUL.

Sarah! So happy to see you again. I actually thought of your today. My family is on vacation in Michigan and took a day trip to Mackinaw Island. The day involved a boat ride, biking on a tandem (12 miles), hiking through the woods (4 miles), a little shopping, and eating, um, fudge! I tried so hard to fit the occasion but still look fab. I failed, I think, although I had a great day with my wonderful kids and DH. I through to myself, "Sarah A. would have the right gear for this! I need a outdoor field trip/gear capsule."

BTW -- this dress is stunning on you. I love the exposed shoulders, along with the length, which keeps it so casual and ladylike. You definitely look fab. And kudos for the sun protection elements in your summer outfit! I'm with you on that one!

I am enjoying the summer sun here now, but I am sure by mid-July I will be just hot hot hot and tired of it!
