I don't usually do a column of color, but this look is in line with my preferences because:
1) It was extremely cold yesterday, and chilly in my office as well till I got the fireplace started, and the heavy wool cardigan and corduroys were just the thing and
2) It's a nod to my love of travel; when I am on vacation I love to see what people wear in different places. I bought this cardigan in Japan recently as a nod to the old fashioned ladylike looks I saw women wearing. I tried the whole cardigan and pleated skirt look but it felt too girlish for me. The other travel bit is less apparent, but in addition to the pearl necklace, I also have on a gold necklace with palm tree charms picked up in Saudi Arabia and Dubai. I'm looking forward to warmer weather, even in the midst of the snowstorm we had yesterday.
