Angie's challenge day 2 - YouLookFab Forum

This outfit is very me because first of all it is highly influenced by all of yesterday's challenge pictures - I am looking at you velvet jackets and Chanel inspiration. The base is velvet black jeans and a tweedy top. I wore suede cowboy style boots to continue the leg line. I really wanted to wear the over-sized vintage leather jacket, but went with the denim because the weather was too warm for leather - and I wasn't certain I could pull off the over-sized vintage look. Please tell me what you think!

Very me as everything is second hand except the earrings, the denim jacket is a long time favorite, black jeans are a staple essential, I love cowboy style boots and have several, and the leather jacket is a recent find that is still under consideration.

I love cowboy boots, too. I prefer the jean jacket, but the leather jacket looks pretty darn good.

Shevia, you look wonderful and like you in everything. I like the oversized leather jacket and suggest you also try an oversized denim jacket if you see one. I did this last spring and reach for the oversized jacket first, especially with pants. I hope to find some velvet pants but have been looking at second hand shops. You are an inspiration!

Suz, Israeli designer Maya Negri made that shirt - she is one of my favorite local designers.

As for thrifting, I spend a LOT of time doing it, and have done so for years. Practice makes perfect - or at least a lot of great finds!

So gorgeous! I love the textures and wish I could see them in person. The tweedy top and jeans are so great on their own, you don't need a jacket. But both jackets do work well with the outfit. I lean toward the vintage leather one. Yes, you pull it off brilliantly! To me, it works on you because of the way the lapels frame your face and bring the eye up, and something about the shape of it is very pretty on you. It works nicely over the narrow bottom silhouette, too, and the pointy boots.

Wow, I NEED velvet black jeans now! Love them with the marled top and leather jacket. The denim jacket works fine but I actually prefer the leather one.
