I’m starting ukulele lessons today. My husband gave me the uke for my birthday 1.5 years ago, and I’ve picked up a little bit, but I just found out our Olli (Osher Life Long Learning Institute) organization is offering lessons.

Well how cool is that - good luck with the lesson, I like the geometric shape of that ukelele! Also love that you wear pink of Tuesdays. One of my fave colors and definitely deserves it's own day!

What a funky looking ukulele.My daughter has just started playing too and really enjoys it.l think that you will get a lot out of learning to play it.The pink and green are really pretty colours on you.

Suz, torontogirl, Cardiff girl, thank you. The uke is a Fluke. We bought one for our son years ago. Then my 94 YO mother played it for several years. Recently, our son took it back to St Paul. I’m hoping I can learn to play mine. I’ve had a guitar for 25 years, and have taken so many lessons, but still can’t play it. Plus, the pain of metal strings.

Love this - that scarf and boots make this outfit! Plus the uke of course. You are going to be a one-woman band at this rate!

That Patagonia jacket is so perfect for you. I wore my Patagoniai Gore-tex today - it got a work out. If we can figure out a meet up one of these days I want it to be Tuesday, so I can break out some pink too!

I just got back from my uke lesson. It’s really a class, with around 30 senior citizens. I kept up, but now my fingers hurt. One of the handbell women is in the class!

Karen, thank you. All we’ve had today is a little rain, and howling winds. As of 30 minutes ago it was 27mph!

I love the idea that you have a special day for wearing Pink. It reminds me of DD and her two friends who decided in HS to wear heels every even Thursday, and dresses every odd Tuesday. Every Friday was silly sock day. I believe they somehow added plaid to the rotation in their senior year.

You can start a band! DS2 got a ukulele in Hawai last year. You look wonderful and comfortable for your day. Love pink on you.

Kkards, I couldn’t believe that after missing the first three classes I was still able to keep up. My fingers are so sore, though.

Gryffin, thank you. I’ve been wearing grey for five years, but just started wearing pink two years ago. And I really like them together.

Love the pink scarf and fun to learn the uke! The shape is like a mini balalaika If you play guitar its easy to remember the chords, just a 5th up! D form is G etc...

Suntiger, thank you. Although I’ve had a guitar for 25 years (also a birthday present), and have taken numerous classes, I still can’t play it. I know chords, but can’t change them fast enough, except for maybe a funeral dirge. Already the uke is easier, because it’s smaller, has fewer strings, and they’re nylon.
