Angie’s “I Gotta Be Me” challenge day 2, plus a weekend look

Today was frigid with windchills at -15 F. Warm layers required.
Photos 1-3 show what I wore to work today. Ponte knit pants, a thick turtleneck jersey, long cardi, metallic booties.

Why this is me:
Column of color
Cozy, warm, casual, yet professional
Black and gray are neutrals I love
Long over lean
Sassy booties
Bag with blingy bold chain, jewelry
Happiness factors are all jewelry and the sweater. The sweater was a gift from my sister and feels like a warm hug.

Pictures 4-5. This is an example of my weekend wear. This represents what I would wear for getting groceries, dog walking and keeping up with DGS. I wore this on a day when the temp was in the mid 40s with no wind.
It is me because of the gray jeans, striped top, cozy fleece, boots (maybe boots are part of my signature look?) large handbag. This outfit moves with me and works for me. I put it on and can focus on the weekend. This outfit feels a bit earthy and outdoorsy. Casual without much polish.

Mainelady, I appreciate how the cardigan from your sister feels like a hug when you wear it. I enjoyed reading your previous posts which to me seemed to be about figuring out how you could stay focused on your goals when shopping with your sister; without being enticed to purchase items that fit her sensibilities and lifestyle rather than your own. Clearly this must be doubly difficult when your sister is a twin! While I appreciate your well developed sense of style, the part that resonates most with me is the element of your style that shows your strong sense of connection to the important people in your life by incorporating sentimental items such as a piece of jewelry or clothing from these people into your outfits on a daily basis. In my experience these sorts of items offer an added sense of security, joy and wellbeing to ones day.

Staysfit, what you say is true. Happiness factors are visual and tactile reminders of people and memories. Honoring those by wearing them gives me an incredible sense of love, joy, strength and comfort. Daily therapy sessions!

Mainelady - wow that cardi is tdf!! Looks gorgeous on and as you say like the most elegant hug ever! The necklace, booties and bag are perfect with it and you know how I love a column of black! Gorgeous!! Your weeekend look is also terrific, I think it's very polished and interesting. Simple is not easy!!! Well fitting, interesting outfits what are comfortable, functional but stylish are many times more difficult to fashion then outfits where you can toss on a statement and call it a day. Very well done and lovely!!

Kathie, I have to laugh. DGS is a lucky little guy. He has all his grandparents living within a town or two from him. WE are lucky we can still keep up with him and tag out for a respite if needed!
